I loved this place. Calypso was my fave bird. Donate generously as they are saving to build a hurricane shelter for the flamingos so they can get a new flock. This is needed badly. I bought some bracelets too to save a turtle. Best part of my vacation n the employees were very helpful n friendly. Must see! It's not a zoo however it's small n relaxing n takes about n hour to go through. The birds are very entertaining.

This a great place to bring young kids as well as anyone to explore. It reminds me of old Florida. The place is not huge which adds to the charm. They have a good variety of birds, tortoises and alligators. Last time I was there they were working on an otter enclosure as well. The staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit in my opinion, especially if you don't like big crowded places. There are benches throughout to sit and enjoy the scenery.

A nice place to spend an hour or two. It was pretty slow on the Sunday afternoon we went. All the animals seem well taken care of and loved by the staff. Most (if not all) of their animals are rescues or failed rehabs so I am glad they have a lovely place to take care of them!

I've been here several times - yet most of the visits were with my kids when they were little between 15 and 20 years ago. Went back in Feb 2025. Great place that has animals that are rescued - mainly birds such as ducks, flamingos, curassows, and macaws. There's also an alligator section and they have tortoises. They are rebuilding the otter exhibit. It is totally in the shade - which is great for hot, sunny, Florida. To do the whole thing, takes about an hour. There are areas that are up-to-date, and some that need work. It has been open since 1936 (with some closures 10 or so years ago with new management) and they are working to gradually modernize. There's a great gift shop and a few indoor exhibits. Big enough to be worth it, small enough that 3-year-olds can do the whole thing.

Wow! Was not expecting to be as blown away as I was. This place is small but you can walk around it several times and not get bored. It is BEAUTIFUL. The animals are loved, taken very well care of and friendly. The plants- omg the plants! I could spend hours just looking at the plants. Went with my family and 10 and 13 year old boys. We all enjoyed it so much.
Check this place out. We live in Michigan but will definitely be back!

This is a hidden gem in Bonita. If you like Old Florida, this is for you.
The animals are rescues, unable to live in the wild. They’re well cared for and I was especially happy to see parrots that weren’t chained to perches.
The winding shady pathways led around the property with water features and information signs. Beautiful plants all through the area.
Reasonable admission fees, clean restrooms, drinks, snacks, gift shops, parking. Check it out
