We spent 3 weeks at the Windjammer. It was excellent! The facility is well maintained and our one bedroom was immaculate. We love the kitchen and the grills outside. Our room was steps to the beach and steps to 2 pools. The staff is friendly and always willing to help if you need it. Already looking forward to next year at The Windjammer!

This place is truly a gem. My husband and I had a wonderful 9 days here. We were in room #2 on the first floor right by the main pool and parking. This was the one bed room apartment and it was perfect. Apartment was equipped with pots, pans, plates, paper towels, cooking utensils. Basically anything you would need to cook in a kitchen. We worked from our laptops for a few days in the apartment and they even offered another WiFi to ensure we didn’t have any issues and we were able to attend our video calls! If you’re looking for a place right on the beach, this place is a great choice. The community areas are cleaned every day, this includes the chairs, pool, the grounds everything. Room cleaned each day. The staff is very lovely and pleasant. They provide chairs for the beach along with umbrellas. They also have beach towels and water toys for children. I had a family member come to visit for a few hours and they even helped to provide guest parking. I’ve seen a lot of reviews here describing the size of the rooms as being small, I’ve honestly never understood the obsession with Americans wanting bigger things but this place was perfect and the size was generous to move around perfectly. Unless you’re 300+ pounds, you should be fine. We had no complaints. I want to shout out to the main desk person, Bailey who truly went above and beyond to provide us with the best experience. He was always there to answer any questions we needed and we were so thankful for the attentiveness. All in all, if you’re looking for a place to stay right on the beach,and right next to the heart of the city then this is the place for you. Bonus points if you book the 1 bedroom apartments on the first floor, I felt like I had the best room in the place!

We have been coming to Windjammer since 2009 annually! Always a perfect vacation, beautiful beach, one block from the restaurants and entertainment- this resort has been perfect since kids became teenagers to now coming as adults with their families- this year windjammer knocked it out of the park! We gave our daughter and new son in law a week after their wedding- I asked first a bottle of champagne and possibly a gift certificate to Aruba restaurant,- they topped the charts with decorations, personal keepsakes of their marriage, flowers, baskets of treats- the warmest personal welcoming I have ever seen! This resort always goes above beyond to let you know they value your experience, truly appreciate you as a you come for relaxation and a break from the stresses of everyday life! They strive to meet your expectation of relaxation! Always available and willing to make your time there all it can be- it’s not about buying into a certain level of comfort but more how they can make your retreat truly relaxing and the vacation you want it to be- highly highly recommended- ask for it and they will do all they can to make it happen! Lisa went over and beyond on a Sunday with a personalized welcome that represents the spirit of Windjammer and Lauderdale by the sea- we have 15 years of memories here- looking forward to the next 20 years! 5 stars only because there isn’t an option for 10!

So this rating may be more reflective of the individual unit we stayed in as it was not updated and smelled of mold. The layout was bizarre ( was a two story, two bedroom unit with only an elevator inside, bedrooms below the living area , only doors opened as windows did not and you had to cut through the bedrooms to get out on the lower floor). The ‘resort’ is old and many pics a bit deceptive. Our couch was very wet when we arrived as they apparently cleaned it but we couldn’t use it for two days… beside giving us a fan, management did not offer any compensation. We were lucky one person in our party cancelled as the couch was too wet to use. ||Other than the beach, not a lot to do. Thank God it did not rain because it would have felt like being in a wet, dark basement apartment . ||Plus side: right on beach, cleaning people every day, bikes old but worked. Smaller pool area was fine. Very close to restaurants. ||I suggest checking out the actual unit before committing. The reservationist did direct me to the virtual tour but it was hard to really tell how the unit looked and I assumed the windows opened— never thought to ask that. I saw all the great reviews so I booked it but perhaps those were from people who stayed in better units . I also felt like the management didn’t care as we had already paid/reserved.

Our stay was great, even though weather wasn’t so great. Bailey in front office was amazing in making our stay great.|Very nice units we stayed in. Helped us get a great parking spot. I would reccomend this resort to everyone. The negative thing I have is, you need better lighting at grill area, hard to see what you’re grilling. I used a headlamp.

This is probably the very worst place I’ve ever stayed. I travel extensively. The rooms smell. They are very small, and I went into other places while I was here to visit with friends, and their places, for the same amount of money, were much nicer. I couldn’t get an umbrella to sit by the pool because “residents,” “saved” them for others and took two and three for two people. There were supposedly two floors. To get to the other floor you had to go in what I would call a dumb waiter to get there. It was a death trap. I would not recommend this place to anyone, ever. Run!!!
