We were looking for a fine dining experience to celebrate my husband's birthday, but didn't want to go into Fort Worth. I was initially surprised to hear about WhiskeyWoods when I saw it was in Glen Rose, but the picture of the restaurant and food looked great. There are different menus depending on if you sit in the dining room vs. the bar area, but I was told there are regular tables available in the bar area as well. We chose the dining room. Our server was wonderful; I felt like he was reading my mind! Every time I'd decide on an item, he'd come over to the table and recommend that same item, so I had confidence in my decision. The food was wonderful. It's a bit pricey, but we had an appetizer, two half salads, entrees, drinks, and dessert. It's a nice place to go out for a big celebration

Great cocktails and food in a relaxed yet stylish spot. The bartender is very good and knowledgeable. The bar has a good selection. Food wise, the quail wrapped in bacon is fantastic. Must try. The raw oysters may not be in the regular menu, but the chef was kind to us and served us raw oysters.

We got the steak filet that was perfectly cooked with a wine reduce sauce. It was delicious, but could have cooked longer because it had a strong alcohol taste to it. The scallops were also delicious and cooked perfectly. The drinks were good, server was great, and the lay out was very chill. Definitely recommend this place. It would be better if they had more than 3 steak options since they’re called a steak house.

Our Sea Bass was really good, but the calamari was subpar. I think our whole plate only had maybe 7 whole pieces, everything else was more fried batter without the calamari then anything.
My actual meal was good though.

Happy Anniversary, Mr&Mrs Hayes! And this made is complete. Jeni our server was amazing. The bootleger salad was great. Scallops cooked perfect and the sauce, Well lets say they could put that on everything!! Yum! My husband's steak was the melt in your mouth perfect! The potatoes were so light & fluffy. The Gumbo was full of flavor shrimp & sausage, and don't sleep on the bread on the side! Thanks for a great anniversary experience and we will come back when the live music starts up again. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

We enjoyed this beautiful speakeasy prohibition style steakhouse with its rich wood interiors and intimate but fun dining atmosphere! They even have live music!

We enjoyed a drink in the bar side of this restaurant, then over to the dining room with friends!

Angel was our fantastic server in the dining room! He has a great sense of humor. We loved the young man, Conner, whose aspirations will take him far. What a wonderful staff!

Oh, and the food? Undeniably fabulous! We enjoyed appetizers, diver scallops, perfectly cooked steaks, desserts and whiskeys and wines! What an entertaining evening with many laughs!

We were pleasantly surprised with is restaurant! It is a lovely venue and the food was excellent. We were celebrating our anniversaries with another couple (53 and 55) and it was perfect in every way! The wait staff made the stay even better. We would recommend WiskeyWoods without reservation.

Fantastic experience! Me and my husband have been to many fine dining spots (a lot of Gordon Ramsey places), I was unsure we’d find anything like that in Glen Rose. We tried the bacon wrapped quail which had a mango sauce that was just heavenly. We also got the pork chop and the scallops. Everything was extremely well executed and exceeded our expectations! The waiter was very attentive and was helpful in narrowing down what dishes we should try. Cody is a fantastic waiter and really made our experience top notch. And as for the chef, he curates some wonderful dishes that were just….. chef kiss! We tried a different place to eat the following nice and regretted not coming back to Whiskey Woods instead. We can’t wait to drive back in from Dallas and try out new dishes as the menu evolves.

The location is right in the heart of downtown, we were same to walk right in and get a seat. We were initially going to sit in the bar area but it had a completely different ambiance compared to the dining room; we swapped to the main dining without an issue. Only downside (during winter), the vents are extremely strong and work well, great for summer but I was pretty chilly!
