Lives up to its reputation for size. The Grooming was really nice. Lift infrastructure was very good. Not the most challenging mountain. A lot of intermediate skiers. It's a good family destination, not particularly my style. Although Blue Sky basin looked amazing, it was completely frozen over when I was there. Skiing was on trail was the only option

One of the best resorts in Colorado, bowls are fantastic and snow conditions are perfect. Crowds are small as there is a good distribution of lifts. The views are beautiful and the trail variation is very nice. There are some very nice challenging trails and fun groomers to carve on. The greatest part of the resort has to be the back bowls. I loved blue sky basin and game creek. The village is nice and has a very nice vibe. If you are coming to visit Colorado you must take a trip to Vail!

Fantastic resort! If you ski, Vail has your terrain.

Great mix of open areas and trees, greens to black diamond. If you are new to skiing, there are great areas to learn without getting run over.

This was my first visit, but I'll definitely be back.

This place amazing, I love their trails name!
I also think it is nice that they have a lot of trails and Lifts to take you up, it is also nice for beginners.
I was lucky that snow was soft during my staying, and also not a lot of people.

We visited and ride at Vail for a 4-day snowboarding trip. We did a deep dive and fully explored & experienced all parts of the mountain. If you are taking the shuttles, the best and fastest way to get onto and around the mountain is to take the gondola/Born free chairlift to the upper/mid mountain from Lionshead village, so you can avoid a long distance walk in the Vail village while carrying all your gears. The snow conditions are on point, the grooming is fantastic, and the back bowls are amazing!! It’s a must have experience if you haven’t done it. Highly recommended!!!!!!

Vail is a dream for skiers! ⛷️ Incredible back bowls, top-notch lifts, and a charming village with great après. It’s pricey and can get crowded, but if you plan right, it’s totally worth it! Who else loves Vail? Drop a like if it’s on your bucket list! ❄️🏔️🔥

I visited Vail on February 21, 2025, and after that day, I will never come back to ski here again. I don’t know if it’s always like this, but the slopes were in terrible condition – completely unprepared for skiing. There were no signs of grooming anywhere; all the trails were just packed down by other skiers. Some runs had such big moguls that skiing felt like an extreme survival challenge rather than an enjoyable experience.

I am a professional skier, but sometimes I just want to relax and enjoy the ride. Here, I had to stay 100% focused just to avoid falling. The next day, I went to Aspen Snowmass, and the slopes were in much better shape. The same goes for Beaver Creek – the trails there were well-groomed and properly maintained.

Another huge issue is the price. I had an Epic Pass, but my friend had to pay $319 + tax for just one day of skiing. If you charge such insane prices for a lift ticket, the least you can do is properly prepare the slopes for a comfortable experience!

End result – a wasted day, and I will never return. Adding a video so everyone can see the real condition of the slopes.

Resort is a solid 4; Guests are a solid 2
Pros: absolutely gorgeous views and fun slopes
Cons: extremely expensive ($820 for 3 half-day pass) and guests are entitled.

***
If you drop something on the slopes and someone notices, they are quick to bring it to you.
BUT the people there are also quick to start arguments if you have kids with you or they think you're skiing too fast.
