This is a BIG shout out to the Fish and Wildlife organization (Anita and associates) out of Ocala that helps to serve The Villages. In April of 2024, last month, after contacting the Villages District Office, we were directed to the Fish and Wildlife organization regarding a Great Blue Heron we observed at a pond in the Mulberry area that was in distress. The fish and wildlife organization immediately responded and took the bird from a desperate situation into safekeeping. In addition, we contacted the Water Department of The Villages District Office regarding the water quality in the pond and received immediate response from the District Office Water Quality Manager, with respect to attending to the pond. Thank you to all involved. Management of the fish and wildlife and their habitats in The Villages is a full-time job, no doubt, and we appreciate all you do!
