Very cool store and super helpful and friendly staff. I’m new to these kind of games, but already obsessed with playing them. All I can say is that I hope they stay open forever because there is so much that I want to get. I’m not a heavy consumer type, but I could spend all of my money here.

What an awesome store!

When I went there the staff was incredibly helpful. The employee who helped me was personable, polite, and knowledgeable. Game stores can be intimidating for people who don’t frequent them but Sword and Board games is inviting and welcoming. I was able to have all my questions answered and find some perfect Christmas gifts. Will be coming back here for all my board game related needs.

Sword and Board Games is the best! Excellent selection of tabletop and card games. The owners, Greg and Alyssa, are very knowledgeable and helpful. They have a large space in the store for events or just playing games. They also have demo games so you can try them out first. Highly recommended!!

I was in town for work with a couple coworkers and just happened to google “board games capitola” and this was the place that popped up. I AM SO GLAD IT DID! We walked through the mall and found and proceeded to play board games we pulled off the shelf for a couple of hours. There was such a nice selection that it took us way too much time to pick a game. We had an absolute blast and would recommend it for anyone in the area! They host tournaments, have a figure painting station, and the nicest owner.

Great local game store! Large amount of space to actually play games, big community of people playing MTG, Warhammer, DnD, and lots of all the other related stuff. Massive selection of board games available for you to check out and play right there at the store. They have some pretty cool decor up on the walls too, and some really fancy dice sets available. Very queer and family friendly owners / staff! Ask about their schedule of events.
