Snook Rodeo Arena - Somerville, Texas

First of all I want to say the Snook Rodeo Arena is a WONDERFUL venue - for a rodeo or the chili festival held here annually. It may even be a good venue for a concert / music festival, IF that festival is NOT the At The Station Festival I attended yesterday with my family. I urge Snook Rodeo Arena not to allow this event there next year. This event was oversold and way under resourced. The basics in safety and security were not present. Our bags were not searched upon entry. More critical was the lack of water stations so people could easily hydrate. This is a staple at music festivals, not to mention this is TEXAS and the temp hit 93 degrees. So with no water stations, you would think bottled water would be plentiful for purchase. It was not. It initially ran out at 5 pm - 4 hours before Zach Bryan was scheduled to start his set. Then they trucked some more in and that quickly ran out. People were dehydrated and Zach Bryan had to stop his set at least 6 times for medical emergencies in the crowd. Same for Flatland Calvary during their set. I paid $75 for a 6-slice cheese pizza for my family and $30 for 2 frozen lemonades. Parking was a cluster. No signage for parking worth a darn. Only a handful of people in the med tent who were not equipped to deal with all of the issues. If you look at my reviews, I always have good things to say. I am a child of the 80s and have been to hundreds of concerts and festivals. The music was EXCELLENT. Thank you, ZB! However, this was the worst event experience of my life.

ABSOLUTE worst night I’ve ever had. They ran out of water like halfway through the concert so people were passing out left and right. Walked over 2 miles just to get out of the venue, got trapped multiple times trying to leave, then sat in a random field for over 2 hours with no phone service so we couldn’t get an Uber/Lyft. Finally had to get in a random Uber with another couple. Took 2 hours to drive 20 miles back to college station. 100/10 would NOT recommend live at the station.
