Even in the cold winter weather, this place is amazing. On clear days, you can see the mountains
Near our Airbnb and close to town. Everything is walking distance of our not freezing.

A beautiful location! Unfortunately we weren't there at night to experience the observatory in it's element, but with the location and WestCliff being a Black Skies community, I can only imagine how glorious this must look at night! We might go back at some point for this neat experience

I don’t know if you have to be at specific time or months in the year
I was in Denver from CT
So I rented a car and drove like 2.5 hours for nothing
I saw more stars at my house than there
Don’t get me wrong is one of the most beautiful places I seen but no milky way no starts at all and the sky was clear
I hope I was too early because it was around 10 to 11 pm that night

Daytime, yes! Saturday 11-noon, SJO volunteers sharing their expertise and telescopes to help us see spots, flares, and all kinds of fun happening on our nearest star, the sun! Thank you!

Clint Smith graciously gave us a 30 minute tour that was arranged at the very last minute. The observatory is an excellent creation and resource. We cherished our time there!

Came here and was sad for a cloudy night, which of course no one can control. But the blowing alley just across the street, even closed, had large flood lights and blinking neon lights, as well as a giant warehouse with lights. Really ruined the 'dark' sky experience. Will try again on a clear night.
