So we went in there to spend time with visiting family members from out of town. The gambling floor was nicely attended by plenty of people serving drinks. I found my way into the Humidor Bourbon and Cigar lounge. The selection of allocated bourbons is nice. The selection of Cigars is pretty grand as well. They offer help with pairing cigars and drinks which is nice too. They seem to offer a full experience to have a great voyage. I had not ever tried Elmer T Lee since it’s pretty darn impossible to find at a decent price. So I finally got to taste it. Over all we had a great time!!

This is a new casino in Elk Grove, it’s clean and has plenty of parking. You must try the food! I ordered a plate of appetizers and 6 of us ate! Look at this! It was fresh and very delicious!

The smoking section is right when you walk in the door so it stinks you have to go back pretty far to find the machines that don't cost a dollar a spin the place is pretty clean bathrooms are immaculate the employees are very very friendly and helpful Don't forget your players card

We have been to Sky River Casino a few times and have really enjoyed it! My husband and I have dined here on several occasions, trying many of their restaurants. My friends and I have gotten together for fun days/nights out and have always left smiling. This new local casino is a great place to unwind!

Conveniently located and having plenty of parking, I always feel very safe when I go here. The parking lot is frequently patrolled. There is security at every entrance checking IDs and purses. Plus, it is very clean. Yes, they do allow smoking inside. But their air scrubbing system keeps up and you don’t leave feeling like you are drenched in cigarettes.

There are plenty of machines with all denominations of playing. Slots, video poker, table games— the possibilities are endless. The bars have decent staff working them, the drinks are fairly priced, and unless it is a busy weekend day/night, it is easy to get a spot at the bar and a drink.

All three times that I have gambled here I had a great time! I played on $100 for close to five hours, up hundreds and down to pennies. I left ahead one time!

I can’t wait to see what this place fully develops into! We will definitely be back.

The good:

Plenty of baccarat tables, and slot machines (which I rarely play) in the high and low limit areas. The steak house is a bit pricey, but EXCELLENT! Easy to get a table there, even during peak hours. The rib eye and filet mignon are outstanding. I tried their mac & cheese with lobster for the first time recently and was very impressed. The service is always great too! I suppose that it should be if you are spending at least $75-$100 per person for appetizers, an entree and desert, add $40 if you have a couple of cocktails.

The irritating:

SUPER SMOKEY! I know it's an Indian casino and I don't expect purified fresh air, tbh, I enjoy a cigar a few times a year so Im not that bothered. However, it is very noticeable & SR casino really needs to address/upgrade their HVAC system as it is sub standard.
and obviously needs better filtration. You can actually see plumes of smoke and haze the second you walk in. My friend (a non smoker/marathon runner) complained about their eyes burning/watering as it was a busy Sat night and had to go outside a few times for fresh air breaks. The smoke in other Nor Cal casinos is considerably less noticeable.

What grinds my gears(shit I really don't like):

Sky River's rewards/comp program is a joke. I only play table games and despite regularly buying in for at least $2k per visit, the host balked when I asked her for a dinner comp, for just myself. Didn't ask for any booze, After plaing a couple of hours at $100 a hand on this particular visit, I only requested a meal. Not sure if it is because I was way up (I had more than tripled my buy in) or what but her reaction was as if I'd asked her to paint my house in the summer, by herself! This lady said that I hadn't "lost enough" to earn a dinner comp! Now I know that casino folks are by nature, greedy, blood sucking parasites that care only about $$$. Which is why I love taking their money! Everyone knows this, but this joint takes unabashed greed to an entirely new level! They are going to wind up like Jackson Rancheria if they keep up these shenanigans. Something is patently amiss if your business makes your competition -Hard Rock, Red Hawk and Thunder V look generous.

Within 20 minutes of my first visit I hit two jackpots. I've been a regular since. My host Penny is awesome. She keeps me updated on events. She's never said no to my food comp requests and she responds very fast. I've won so many jackpots here. I was able to buy a new car. Thanks Sky River!!!
