I was here a few weeks ago. I went to look at a 2011 Toyota Highlander. I live about an hour away, so this required a bit of time on my part. I drove the Highlander and was ready to purchase it. The sales guy, Brendan, was very nice and helpful. We were having trouble getting in touch with my credit union about financing, so they ran it through Toyota Finance to see if we would get approval. They came back and said yes Toyota would finance but at a 10% interest rate, but that they would knock $2000 off the price to get my note where I wanted. About that time, I was able to get in touch with my credit union, who said yes they would finance with a 6.95 %. Obviously I would prefer the lower rate. When I told them I could use my credit union, I was told, per the finance guy (who never once came out of the office to introduce himself or speak to me at all) that if i finance through my bank, they would no longer knock off the $2000. This is 100% illegal for a dealership to do, per the FTC. A dealership cannot hinge the price of a vehicle on you financing with them or not. Even still, I told him I didn't need the $2000 off, but I wanted him to remove the $1500 service contract from the price because I did not live locally and did not plan to have my vehicle serviced there. Once again, the finance manager had the salesman tell me that they would not remove the service contract because "that is how he makes his money". Again, this is another law broken. Per the FTC, a dealership cannot manipulate or force a buyer to purchase a warranty or service agreement. At this point I left. I did receive a text from someone the following day saying they were a manager and wanted to know what happened. I was as clear with them as I have been in this post about what happened. There was no apology, there was no denial of what happened. The only response I got was "well was your credit union going to finance it?' I have never dealt with such blatant greed, so blatant that it doesn't seem to care that it has broke two FEDERAL laws. I have since bought a vehicle from another dealership that I'm very happy with and would never recommend or use this place after my experience here. I have documentation to back up what I have said, as well as a witness who was with me. I have filed a complaint with the FTC. I leave this review as a warning to other buyers that illegal and unethical tactics to manipulate buyers are absolutely being used here

Go ahead. Take a poll... one of the most dreaded things humans can do - is buy an automobile. Honestly, it sucks. It's stressful. It's time consuming. All the drama and games and bs that always, always goes along with it. It's painful. And I've been there multiple times... but I must say, buying a truck at Silsbee Toyota with Zach, was the least painful buying experience I've encountered. He wasn't pushy, yet assertive. He wasn't annoying, but still followed up periodically by texting me (as requested for new units on the lot, etc). Helpful. Knowledgeable. Nice guy... I only took off 1 star because I think Toyota Silsbee (in general) could have done a bit better working with me on the price. Not a deal breaker tho, and I'm really happy with my truck and my experience.
