Kamau was the DJ for our wedding in June and he was absolutely fantastic! We loved the music he played, and he helped keep the flow of the wedding going perfectly. When we had our initial call with him he immediately made us feel comfortable, and we really enjoyed chatting with him before our day. He did a fantastic job, and we're so thankful!

The booking process was really easy as well, which was amazing because planning a wedding is a lot!

We hired Trevor for our October wedding in Big Sur, and let me tell you, the vibes, were immaculate. Our venue was not easy to get to, set up at, work with, there were challenges left and right, but Trevor never let us know or feel that. Our venue had scarce electrical outlets, we needed several speaker set ups and lights and he always had a beaming smile on his face even though we knew he was working hard for us. Throughout the process we were able to get to know Trevor and he made our Wedding Day music absolutely fit us and our guests. He knew what to play throughout the entire day from 3pm-10pm. The music flowed between songs, the beat never dropped, and he partnered with a violinist we hired separately to ensure the speakers and music worked for them both. We had very specific asks for our ceremony, dinner, and reception and he hit every target!! We're so grateful to have worked with Trevor because music was such an important piece of our day and he crushed it! We're now such big fans of his and want to sing his praises to anyone that will listen. This is the best wedding or event DJ you can get!! Thank you Trevor!!

Trevor was our DJ at our wedding back in November and absolutely UNDERSTOOD THE ASSIGNMENT! Trevor was amazing from the moment we reached out and inquired. Extremely thorough with the attention to detail every TypeA bride needs. Trevor answered all texts and phone calls and left me feeling confident he had it handled going into wedding day. He arrived on time, dressed professionally, and continued to check in with us throughout the night (even asking if he could bring us a drink or appetizer). He followed the vibe we had discussed and used our must play songs to help us create the most insane dance floor. The dance floor was packed from the second it opened until we literally got kicked off. Would absolutely recommend Trevor and Santa Cruz DJ to anyone looking to have a good time! My family has already booked them for another party we have coming up this year. You’re the man, Trevor!!! Cannot thank you enough!!

My husband and I both LOVE to dance and so do our family and friends so we knew the music at our wedding was really important. Our venue (Nestldown) provided us with a list of DJs that they had worked with from the past and Santa Cruz DJ Company was on it. Our venue is very selective of who they add to their vendor lists so we knew that they would be good. The thing that ended up deciding it for us was that when we visited their website they had a mix playing and we couldn’t stop grooving to it!

They have a lot of great DJs working for them so there was a good chance that they would have availability to work our wedding day and it gave us extra security to know that they would most likely have backup DJs available in case plans changed for some reason. They had lots of great options for things like extra uplighting and photo booths, which we didn’t end up adding on to our package but it was nice to know that we could.

They gave us a form to fill out so we could let them know what kind of music we wanted for different parts of the wedding. I really loved that they included a section for “Must Play” songs and another for songs we absolutely didn’t want to hear which I think is equally as important.

It ended up being a good thing that we picked out a company with built in backups because and unexpected scheduling conflict came up with our original DJ the week before our wedding. We stressed about it for like a second but the company and our backup DJ reached out right away and we felt very reassured. Scott Vaughn was assigned to DJ for us instead and he sent us an email and a voicemail to make sure we weren’t worrying about anything and to set up a meeting.

Maybe it was fate because we clicked with him right away during our phone call! He made sure to understand the vibes we were going for and when we told him maximizing dance time was our top priority, he made it his as well. Our allotted reception time wasn’t as long as we had initially wanted but he reassured us that us and our guests would get our fill of dancing and it wouldn’t feel too short.

He was right! The dance floor was never empty! He paid attention to our “must haves” and no no’s and let us know that we could always let him know if we weren’t feeling a song and he would change it. Which I don’t think actually ever happened but he was great about switching genres up at the right time to keep everyone happy. We had a very diverse crowd to cater to and he was able to play a little something for everyone while also keeping my husband and I on the dance floor the entire time which was the most important part. We and our guests had an amazing time and we left the venue very sweaty and tired but so so happy.

THANK YOU TREVOR!! Our only requirements for our wedding was a fun party and dance floor. Trevor executed perfectly! Not only was our dance floor a BLAST, but he also executed the whole day perfectly. From the ceremony to the reception speeches to the dance floor- the whole day was seamless. During our last call before the wedding, Trevor reminded me that the vendors we hired are professionals & the "got it covered". It was a huge relief for me to trust Trevor and just enjoy my wedding day. We had the time of our lives!

SCDJ was incredible in helping my wedding go off without a hitch. So organized, so calm, we even had people asking us if Trevor was our coordinator! He was just awesome. The ceremony music and sound system was perfect, as well as coordination when it came time to announce us into dinner, start on speeches, and our first dance. During cocktail hour, people were coming up to us complimenting the music! We then had the best dance party I’ve even been a part of, where he took requests, and played music off of the very long list of songs that my husband and I sent him. The lighting in the space was also incredible! After the wedding, he helped coordinate a silent disco for the wedding party and even let some of my up and coming DJ friends DJ for a bit. Would highly recommend for your wedding, it made a huge difference for us.

We hired Santa Cruz DJ for our July 2021 wedding and would hire Trevor and his team again in a HEARTBEAT for any event in the future!

In the planning stages, Trevor was SO pleasant to work with and made sure to understand what we wanted, and what we definitely did not want and made sure to keep everything organized that had a specific song or toast for the wedding to go smoothly. When I told him that we wanted to mix 2 different songs into one for the Father/Daughter dance, he without hesitation offered to do that for us and delivered it in enough time to get some practice in before the wedding!

From the ceremony, to dinner to the reception, he was amazing. He knows how to read a crowd and make sure everyone is having a good time - there wasn’t a single moment once it started that the dance floor wasn’t full of people! To make the night even more special, he coordinated with our photographer to make my (former ameteur dj) husband’s wedding dream come true of getting behind the DJ booth to play some songs! We HIGHLY recommend Santa Cruz DJ if you want to have an amazing party and easy-going DJ to work with!
