Went here for the first time because I’m getting back into reading comics. The guy working there gave me and my boyfriend plenty of time to look around and find what we wanted, and he was super nice when we checked out. I was too shy to ask for recommendations, which is a bummer and totally on me. Overall, a great little shop to buy comics!

A bit of a late post but I wanted to give my thoughts on a recent interaction. Back on October 5th 2024, Samurai Comics Mesa held a prerelease for a Yugioh set (Rage Of The Abyss) that started as soon as they were to open (12pm). The store did not open at that time. Me and other customers were sitting outside the building until around 1:15pm when we decided to contact another Samurai Comics location to find out what was going on. We were told that someone would be sent out to open the store. Around 1:45pm and employee arrived and opened the store. Once the doors were open I inquired about the event. I was told that the yugioh event was live and they had some product. Usually with these prerelease events, you are entered into a raffle for an event playmat, a promo card and you receive a field center card for each purchase of a booster box. I purchased 3 boxes (about 260$ worth) and was told that they had no promotional items due to a delivery issue with Konami. I was told that they would enter me into the raffle with the other locations. To my understanding, the raffles are done PER location and considering I was the only person that showed up to the Mesa location prerelease I would be able to get all 3 items. It feels like they prioritized the other locations as they also took product from the Mesa location to their Phoenix and Tempe locations. I contacted Konami myself and was told that Samurai Comics did not reach out about any issue with delivery of promotionals. This was my first time coming to Samurai Comics Mesa and it honestly left a very bad impression on me. This wasn't my first prerelease event and I can decidedly say I've never had a negative experience regarding these types of events ever before. This is not a personal bias against the employees as they were well mannered. As convenient as it is to have a mesa location, I don't see myself going back to this location or this business for any kind of purchase again due to this.

Massive selection of various pop culture related items and comics. I think the biggest draw to this shop is the natural light that brightens up the location. I find that most comic book shops fit the “dimly lit” category, but not Samurai! Staff was friendly and helpful with the handful of simple questions I had.

There's more here than what I was expecting! This place has it all. The cool thing to me were all the giant size statues of some superheroes!

As expected all the books are here and in order. Been to a few spots and this is by far the most organized shop in the area.

For more than just a comic book collector there are tons of graphic novels. Cool toys, posters, comic supplies and figurines to choose from.

The staff is really knowledgeable and friendly. Something that is really different about Samurai Comics is the amount of space there is. You're not gonna have to cut corners and rub up on anyone to get a comic in here. Go in, browse the shop. Also there are cool Variants available too!

This is the place where Magic happens too!

I recommend checking out all the extras they do here as well. Comics n more! Good job Samurai!!!

Its almost 1pm on a Saturday and this location is closed. Is this how you run a business when Google says you're open? I drove out of my way 25 minutes to this location and they don't even answer the phone.

They are a pretty chill comic place! They usually have all the good ones come Wednesday in stock. They will check the other stores for you without you even having to ask, which is top notch. They always ask if I need help, which is rare nowadays in stores! I definitely enjoy visiting. Thanks for being awesome!
