Scam-sara (formerly Samsara) is by far one of the most unethical companies I’ve ever dealt with. They took away essential features my company relied on for years—randomly and without any warning—and then had the audacity to force me to pay for a service that no longer delivers what I signed up for. This is deceptive, greedy, and completely unacceptable.

When I tried to cancel after they removed the services I had been using for years, they refused and claimed I was locked into a "contract." The only contract I ever had with them was when I originally signed up. After that, their "renewal bot" automatically generates a new "contract" with random pricing and different terms. This is not a real contract, but they make it seem like it is.

Their customer service has no real power and just regurgitates their ridiculous policies, like requiring 30 days’ notice to cancel, 90 days to change the terms of the agreement, and making you wait 24 hours to speak with a supervisor. Blah blah blah. These policies are designed to make it as hard as possible for customers to get anywhere. Meanwhile, Scam-sara does whatever they want—turning off features I’ve been using for years with only two weeks’ notice. If I supposedly have a "contract," why not wait until it’s over to make changes? It doesn’t work both ways. You can’t cancel features and then also force me into using your product.

Scam-sara is only interested in taking your money, trapping you in fake contracts, and ignoring you when you ask for help.

If you’re even thinking about using Scam-sara, DON’T. They will take your money, change the terms, and try to leave you stuck paying for a useless service. There are plenty of other alternatives that actually value their customers. This company is dishonest, greedy, and should not be in business.

Stay away from this company!!! Scammers. I been using them for couple of years and now they are robbing me blind!!!! I am getting attorney to handle my case!!! They offered me 20% off if I pay for the whole year and then after I made the payment they started to charge me double. I had to call the fraud department at my bank to stop all this !!!!

Update: Thank you for your response, but I must strongly disagree with your explanation. The removal of critical Vehicle Gateway (VG) features, which my business relied on for years, was not an "unintentional" oversight—it was a breach of trust. Taking these features away with just two weeks’ notice DID cause significant disruption.

Customers should have been given proper notice or the option to cancel without penalty, not forced into paying for a diminished service.

When I tried to cancel after the removal of these features, I was told I needed to give 30 days’ notice. How could I possibly have done that when I wasn’t informed the features would be removed? This is an example of Samsara enforcing terms and "contracts" only when it suits them while disregarding customers' rights.

I hope this review serves as a warning to potential customers. Samsara has shown a lack of accountability and fairness. Words without action do not rebuild trust.

Original review:
After 5 years as a loyal Samsara customer, spending thousands of dollars on their platform, I am appalled by their recent bait-and-switch tactics. With only two weeks’ notice, they informed me that critical features like geofencing, WiFi hotspot, and telematics reports will be shut off because they claim I "never paid for them." Their excuse? They’ve been providing these features "for free" all this time. This is a manipulative and insulting explanation for long-time paying customers.

When I asked for a resolution, their response was laughable: "Please reach out to [email protected]." This shows just how little they value their customers. Their customer service refuses to offer real solutions and instead hides behind generic email addresses. The same account executive who called me daily to upsell services is now completely unresponsive. Samsara’s priorities are clear: profits over people.

Losing essential features with barely any notice is disruptive and unethical. If you value transparency, accountability, and real support, look elsewhere. Samsara has proven they care only about squeezing every penny from customers while offering zero help when it’s needed most.

My experience with Samsara has been absolutely terrible. They opened a double account and charged me twice, and when I tried to resolve it, there was no real help. Their customer service is non-existent—no one answers the phone, and they open and close support tickets without fixing anything. On top of that, they try to screw you over in the contract, making it almost impossible to get out. They just keep charging and won't release you. This company is a scam—stay away at all costs.

Our company has used Samsara for many years. We moved from 17 devices down to 13 devices. About a week before renewal time frame came up, we got told we were auto-renewing 17 devices. I reached out and requested to only renew 13 and they hit us with the "you didn't notify us within 30 day window". After 3 separate phone calls with them (to include being told that only 1 person was working at 1pm and I couldn't be transferred to anyone else), they actually agreed to renew only the 13 devices for us (this was 3 days before the renewal date). I figured everything was good to go on the 13 renewals, but the next business day they reached out (this time via their help desk) to inform me that they would be renewing at 17 devices. I called them within 5 minutes of receiving this email and was told I'd have to do a refund now. I went through and explained how they agreed to the 13 renewals and they didn't care.

I don't find the business practices of agreeing to terms with a customer and then changing them after the fact to be good business.

If anyone from Samsara is actually reading this, I still have 3 open support tickets and would like a response.

Thanks,

Canadian company here. These snake oil sellers are totally not worth a dime.

Get legal lawsuit and bankers call for if they mess around your cancellation. That should fix them up.

This is a terribly dishonest company. They don’t honor cancellation provisions in their own contract… utilizing unfair and deceptive trade practices at every stage in operations.

Incessant Sales team, who will not leave your team alone. After being told no, many times by reception (For years) and main office lines, continued to manage to track down Managements cell phone numbers and begin to bother them. This company just seems like one that will latch onto whatever acceptance they can get from anyone in the company, and would attempt to hold them to it contractually. Based on the reviews available, it seems that is exactly what would happen. I suggest finding any other asset tracking service available.
