This was an absolute wonderful experience! Our group did the manatee swimming tour, and it was one of the greatest experiences!

I have to start by saying that the people working at the Salty Siren - from the wonderful owners, to the captain, to the guides - were the absolute best. Very attentive, caring, and informative. They allowed our experience to be comfortable, unique, and fun.

The guides are very informative in helping you gear up, letting you know what to expect, and guiding you in the water. We saw several manatees, and our wonderful in-water guide made sure that everyone in our group was able to view the manatees. Our boat group consisted of no more than 6 people, which allows for a personable, 1 on 1 type experience.

I cannot recommend this company enough! Was a fun experience, and we will absolutely be returning to go on the scalloping tour!

The highlight of our trip was seeing the manatees up close—it was absolutely breathtaking! These gentle giants swam right beside us, and Megan made sure we had the best possible encounters while educating us on their behaviors and conservation. Captain Ed kept the tour smooth, fun, and comfortable the entire time along with giving us hot drinks and a warm boat room to come back too after the swim.

We visited Three Sisters Springs, and it was stunningly beautiful with crystal-clear water—a sight you have to see to believe! Megan and Captain Ed captured amazing photos and videos of our experience, ensuring we had unforgettable memories to take home.

I booked a private manatee tour during the end of Manatee season in March. I’ve been to three sister springs and Crystal river before and it’s always been a dream of mine to swim with them. I’m a little skittish about snorkeling and was concerned I’d get scared so I sought out a private charter where I knew I’d get more attention and direction. Found Salty Siren tours on Viator. The owners and Captain Jessica are kind, fun people. The way Jessica took charge and literally wrangled my mom and I (at the same time) to guide us where we needed to go to get the best view of the manatees was a feat of great strength.. I don’t know how she does it. I would not have been able to have the same minimally stressful and then wonderful experience had I been on a big charter with 20 people. The pics included with the package are incredible. Highly recommend these guys. Will definitely go back and use them again!

An Unforgettable Manatee Experience!

I cannot recommend this manatee tour enough! From start to finish, the experience was absolutely magical. Captain Kim was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about protecting these gentle giants. She made sure we understood the proper way to interact with the manatees while ensuring their safety and comfort.

Seeing these beautiful creatures up close in their natural habitat was truly breathtaking. The water was crystal clear, and we had plenty of time to observe the manatees and surrounding fish and turtles! The staff provided excellent equipment, making the experience smooth and enjoyable.

If you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, this tour is a must! Whether you’re a nature lover or just looking for a unique adventure, swimming with manatees is something you’ll never forget. I can’t wait to do it again!

Where do I even start? My besties and I planned a girl trip and booked a manatee swim with Salty Siren. Honestly, we had no idea what exactly to expect. From the second we walked in the door - Captain Kim made us feel so welcome and appreciated. Then came Marissa, our in-water guide. Holy smokes is she something else!!!! Her personality….AMAZING. I loved that she wanted us to have our best day ever - but also made sure everyone was safe…humans and manatees. Captain Ed was also wonderful and shared great stores and pictures with us. We got to interact with one of the other in-water guides, Tyler, who was so incredibly knowledgeable. It’s unfortunate I’m not able to rate higher than five stars because I would, without hesitation.

Salty Siren Tours and Charters treated us SPECTACULARLY!!! Our tour guide Marissa & Captain Ed were absolutely amazing. We were there with only two other couples ( they don’t take any more than 6 people out on a tour) and treated us and our friends (also from “THE MITTEN”) with absolute kindness! This company is family owned and Captain Kim & Captain Ed are USCG veterans! They are very knowledgeable and informative about the manatees, and Marissa and Captain Ed took genuine care to ensure our experience was the best it could have possibly been. TOTALLY EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS!!! They also take lots of pictures for you, before, during, and afterwards to beautifully capture the entire experience, and the price was VERY REASONABLE for a lifetime of memories. They also used a drone to help find the manatees and take aerial pictures too. ONLY COMPANY WE SAW DOING THAT! Swimming with manatees has been my dream my whole life. I selected Salty Sirens after thorough research and I can’t express how beautifully they fulfilled my dream. Our group had guide Tyler and captain Moe. Tyler was so fun, laid back and very knowledgeable about these wonderful creatures. I loved how he admitted that as a Crystal River native, he didn’t “get” manatees until he dived with them and cried at what he was missing out on. That is how this team leads — with their heart! Their tour wasn’t just about the human experience of snorkeling, but very adamant about protecting the environment and agency of the manatees themselves. I learned new things about them, and I considered myself quite the expert about these beautiful babies! The boat is heated (thank god) and we got offered free hot chocolate or coffee to warm up after swimming in 72 degree water. Our group was so lucky. We were able to enter the springs where there were at least 30 manatees around. I watched a baby nurse from its mom. I watched a manatee float up for air a couple feet from my face. I looked right into their eyes. I was so positively overwhelmed from the tour that when I got back in the car after I just cried and cried. I was so happy. I also enjoyed a really great conversation with Kim, the owner of Salty Sirens, in the store afterwards. She was choked up telling me about how she assisted in rescuing a manatee and was part of the team delivering him back into the water after rehab. I mean, how could you not want to support a small business that goes way beyond eco-tourism? This team is truly in love with manatees. They prioritize the animals, which I appreciate. I’m so so so happy I went with Salty Siren. Thank you thank you thank you. I’m already trying to rally a group to do this again next year 🙂

This is absolutely THE BEST tour company to go with. We booked with them last year, met Captain Ed and Captain Jessica. That started a tradition and we came back for my birthday this year. We met Megan and I will say, she's doing an amazing job and learning from the BEST. After experiencing these manatee tours I can say that I have found a friend in Jessica. She does the most amazing job from the education and knowledge to getting the most out of the experience for you. Everyone here goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable, safe, and excited.
