Honestly, this is only the second time I have rated a place on google and this is coming from someone that travels every week of the year (from Canada).
Firstly the people that work here are super unhelpful, don’t let you know the rules. We paid for an hour and no one was at their bar for 10 minutes then continued to tell me that Canadian/ foreign IDs are not accepted to buy alcoholic beverages and only passports are accepted (most Canadians can enter USA with just their licences). Luckily my girlfriend had our passports (Canadian/ Czech). We finally got our beer after a while and when we arrived at our lane we had booked for an hour they had said we were 10 minutes into our hour (they give 5 minutes to get there so taking a beer took 15 minutes). No one told us that. You can’t order from the bowling and they force you to walk to the bar to get anything so I then went to order 2 more beers (no one was at the bar again when I arrived) and they told me I couldn’t have 2 beers and I had to take mine then send my girlfriend over to pick hers up by herself.
Place is nice and has tons of stuff to do but if I am back around this area ever again I won’t come back.
At 3pm we wanted to extend and play another game. They told us we cant because it is full. We have been sitting here (it is now 3:22) and the place is empty other than 1 lane.
Honestly I have gone to these sorts of places all around the world and service is really the worst I have ever seen.

We met a friend to bowl on a Saturday Night. We did not have a reservation. It was busy but we didn’t wait for a lane. I will say Bowling is more expensive than I remembered. For three people for 90 minutes it was about $145.

There is a bar. They do also serve food. We didn’t get food but did order drinks. The beer is cold! Always a plus.

The staff was good. If we needed help due to something with the lane - they came quickly. Overall- fun experience and will come back. The food looked pretty good too.

You can make reservations for large parties. More details on the website. There’s a ton to do her outside of bowling and arcade. There is also direct access to the mall.

Went there today with family in bowling alley. Fun was cut short of multiple broken lanes and pins. Balls won’t return, got stuck, pins were going on and off. Had to move to another lane. A couple of customers also had to move lanes. No visible tech seen to try fixing the issues. Just a few staff on their head pieces. We waited for several minutes for any action and updates. Nothing. After a long time waiting, this lady staff named L… said they cannot do anything. We still have 1 hour to play which we paid. They said they cannot refund us for the lost hour. Our kids are getting frustrated. Our time lost and wasted and still have an appointment to go to. Lady L also said they have to refuse service but we were already there waiting for help.
Lady staff said manager is busy to come out. Even for a while to discuss the issues. Won’t even give the manager’s name. We felt helpless. My wife was on the phone with customer service to report these incidents that ruined our family day. No sincere apologies heard and even security followed us out though we were civil in talking to the staff. I think there are more 1 star or low ratings for this place. I’m not surprised. We felt the staff is not willing to help their paying customers. They gotta fix their bowling lanes especially how they handle issues with customers. Terrible experience indeed!!!

Bad experience. The workers are rude and they don't know their own bowling schedule. I literally asked about the unlimited bowling. I was asked to reserve so I did. After about 30 mins of eating drinking and playing pool about $70 already. We get called and are told there is no unlimited bowling and I had asked twice regarding this. Then the person helping us starts talking to me like im a little kid telling to me look at the signs. I should not have to when I had already asked twice regarding the same thing. Isn't that why they are there to answer my questions correctly. Not sure if the workers need more training or something.

Round 1: A Complete Disaster – Don’t Waste Your Time or Money

Round 1 is hands down the worst experience I’ve had in years. It’s as if this place is actively trying to drive customers away with its sheer incompetence, broken equipment, and lack of customer service.

First, the bartender. Not only did they give me the wrong change and then demand it back after realizing their mistake, but they also couldn’t even get a simple drink order right. I ordered a Modelo, and my partner ordered a Truly. Instead of giving us the correct drinks, the bartender gave me the Truly and left my partner with nothing. Since they can apparently only serve one drink per person at a time, my partner then had to come up to the bar herself just to get my drink, which made the whole situation unnecessarily frustrating. This level of incompetence is unreal.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, the bowling lanes were completely broken. Pins kept randomly falling down even though they weren’t hit, and the grabber couldn’t pick them up correctly, leaving pins scattered everywhere. This threw off our scores and made the game impossible to enjoy. Despite clearly malfunctioning equipment, the staff couldn’t be bothered to fix it or even acknowledge the issue. It felt like they’d given up entirely.

When I asked the manager for extra time to finish our game—given that there were six empty lanes sitting unused—they flatly refused without any explanation or courtesy. To top it all off, when I asked to speak to the manager, six security guards showed up, as if this kind of chaos is just a normal part of their day. Clearly, they’re used to handling upset customers, which says everything you need to know about this place.

The staff here don’t care about their jobs, the customers, or even maintaining the basics of a functioning establishment. They stand around, unmotivated and uninterested, as the place falls apart around them. Broken equipment, incompetent service, and zero accountability—it’s no wonder this place is practically empty.

Round 1 is a complete waste of time and money. They don’t just need a staff overhaul—they need to replace the management, the equipment, and their entire approach to running a business. At this rate, it won’t be long before they shut their doors for good, and honestly, that’s exactly what they deserve. Avoid this place like the plague—you’ll thank yourself later.

This place fuels my love for all the soft, squishy plushies. Round One has a wide selection of claw machine plushies of various sizes to win, as well as arcade games from racing, carnival type, sports, etc to earn ticket points from. The bigger the amount you spend, the more credits they add as a bonus. Every time I go, all I can say is RIP wallet!

We had a low key bachelor party and we decided to end the night at Round1. We arrived and checked in. The lady at the front counter literally stood there for at least five minutes totally ignoring me. Until I finally asked if she was free for me to ask a question. Very rudely the lady eventually made eye contact and explained our options for bowling or billiards. At this point I sorta felt like this wasn’t going to go well and I was right.

We played billiards for about 2 hours and we had a great time until we decided to go into the main game room. One of the guys in our group won a large stuffed toy. And he didn’t want to leave the machine so I walked over to an employee who once again totally ignored me and was super rude. I then had to speak out louder to get attention and she turned around and in a very rude voice told me not to get near her and that I shouldn’t back to the machine and she would get someone to meet me there. So I did and then another male employee shows up and instead of helping us. He literally told me no to be yelling at the workers. I was totally perplexed.

Zero customer service, zero, I mean zero. Not only was I a customer but even I had yelled at the employee, he wasn’t a manager to even come up to me to say anything about it. Especially when he wasn’t nowhere near the other employee who was totally ignoring me.

This place is not worth the money or headache. Skip it and go to Pinstripes that recently opened in Walnut Creek.

Round 1 in Sunvalley Mall is the worst place in Northern California based on my experience
We booked a table for 3 families and kids
We got some food and brought it on our table
One of their staff told us the outside food are not allowed
She said they are going to stop the game until we put the foods away
And we did exactly whatever they said
We put all the foods in our cars and We came back to continue the game but they didn't start it !
We went to the guest counter and one of their managers who was African American with the beard with no name on his uniform told us we can't play today and have to come back another day since they didn't see us that we put the food away!
I went to my car and showed him the picture of the foods but still he didn't let us back to the game and ask their security to kick us out
We called the police and they talked with them and cups said outside food policy was in their waiver form and you should hire a lawyer to fight with them!!
I just wanted to let you know that they don't care about you and your fun!
They don't stand behind their words!
They just want to take your money and regulate you in their bully way!
That's how their rude manager treated us!
