Very neat place for a walk! There are several parking lots and the one by the canopy building seems like the easiest way to get to the walk amongst the mangroves.

We walked the long way and it was a nice gravel path with little shade. Got super hot quick! Bring water if you plan to spend a lot of time there.

The canopy is SUPER cool. Nice free activity for the kids to run around.

Loved this place! Fantastic place to walk around, especially in the expansion section with the rubber mulched paths that are very spongy and well maintained. Great sanctuary for birds. Will DEFINITELY be back. Dog friendly too! Free to visit

Free access. Great place to ride your bike or go for a walk. I rode my bike here today for an hour and still could have explored more of the trail. Lots of offshoot trails to explore. Passed lots of people fishing and walking. Speed limit is 10mph. Beautiful views. Big parking lot, so room for vans and trucks. The parking lot is narrow, though, so it's not really suitable for bigger RVs. Clean porto potty / restroom in parking lot. As far as wildlife, I didn't see much. A lizard and a couple of types of birds. It's still a beautiful place though!

One of our favorite places to get away from everything and enjoy nature. You can take your dog here for a wonderful walk. Enjoy the wildlife and great trails. East to find just off 75th on Manatee, about 5mins by car. Lots of parking.

Parking is a 2. Being wheels for your kayak. The launch is tight and when returning rentals blocked wash down. Bathrooms were clean and well kept. Very little shade, bring sunscreen. Only place to get out is on the beach facing north. Currents can be strong some places. Be sure to climb the lookout tower. This is not a full day paddle.

This place is a gem. A wonderful place for bird watching. Storks, heron, egrets, osprey, white pelicans and many more. There are multiple trails around ponds, through mangroves and near the inland waterway. There are vendors who rent kayaks and the channels through the preserve are stunning. They also have a play area for children climbing rope nets and rope bridges. A great family outdoor adventure.

What a great area. Very peaceful. The walking paths (bicycle free) are great, we bring our dog and he enjoys it. Lots of picnic areas, benches for enjoying nature, bicycle paths. Small ponds with fish, white pelicans, roseate spoonbills. The Tower is nice for seeing the Bay, the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, Anna Maria Island. The Nest is great for kids, complete with a lay area and slide. At least 2 sets of restrooms. Parking is abundant.

I see that there are Kayak/Paddleboard 'tubes' for rent, which is a nice addition.

I learned about this area when I was working our Turtle table at the ReptiFest 2024.
