Captain Smitty decided to cancel our tour 12 hours before scheduled departure. So incredibly disappointing as our whole trip revolved around this and he didn’t even bother to give us enough notice to be able to find another tour. Unprofessional to say the least. Company still hasn’t issued a refund

Captain Smitty and his deckhand Captain Lee are hands down the best and most professional guys that I’ve had the pleasure fishing with. They are patient and attentive to their guest, they made our trip a total success. One key fact about Smitty is that his guest safety is paramount!!!!
Before the trip I gave Smitty a call several times, to check on what gear to bring and other questions that I had, and not once did I get an inkling that I may be annoying or Bothering him. Smitty took the time and went over all the details of the trip every time.
I recommend following his directions by giving him a call the night before you go out, on or about after 5pm, as to give him a chance to get the weather forecast from NOAA. As I mentioned earlier safety is his top priority.

Great Salmon fishing, Captain Smitty did his best to put us on fish. The seas were rough but we sill managed well!!!

I booked an ash scattering service with Riptide months in advance. unfortunately the weather wasnt the best that day but the event went smooth without any incident. Not that I have other ash scattering experience as baseline to compare to but everything met my expectations.

Captain “Smitty” runs a fun exciting experience. My buddy and I went out for a salmon fishing trip and had a blast! He and his first mate Lee were very helpful when it came to reeling in the fish and also filleted our fish for a small charge at the end of the day.

Overall it was a great time and would highly recommend it!

My brother and I just had an absolutely perfect day of fishing aboard the Riptide with Captain Smitty and his crew. We met a bunch of great guys that have been fishing with Captain Smitty for decades. It was easy to see why. Captain Smitty took us out and put us right on the king salmon. We limited out the boat by 11am and everyone took home two nice fish. The veteran fishermen were handing off their rods (and fish) after they caught their first couple to anyone that hadn't caught one yet. Everyone hauled in at least one. It was such a great atmosphere. We had an awesome time and I can't wait to go again.

I was lucky enough to get on Riptide with capt. Smitty and deckhand Lee for a day of amazing salmon fishing.
The boat was a salmon catching machine. The capt and deck hand worked really well together and the captain hooked and handed at least a dozen fish for the unlucky anglers on the boat. I didn't come fully prepared with gear and Lee made sure I had everything I needed. I would highly recommend this operation to anyone looking to fish in Half moon bay.

Capt Smitty and Lee will put you on the fish. They work hard for you to have a good time salmon fishing and the boat has a wheelhouse in the back so both Capt and Lee can help net fish when you have a double, triple or even quad hooking with fish hanging! They also provide premium J & P anchovies as bait, the good stuff.

I caught my max and so did the rest of the boat! The deck hands are really helpful! The captain is super friendly! I went there yesterday and I’m going again tomorrow!
