Rio Mesa is an exceptional school! I had attended this school in the 90's and had such a great experience, decided to transfer my daughter from our neighborhood school (Camarillo High School) to Rio Mesa. The teachers are still excellent, especially for Advanced classes. I'm so impressed with how hands on and passionate these teachers (& coaches) are. Rio Mesa is only one of two local high schools (other than Newbury Park) which offers the IB Diploma. I just love the 'diversity' RM offers as well...children from all cultures and walks of life which is healthy for our children's generation to experience, and appreciate. If you're considering this school for your child, please investigate beyond the academic scores because it truly is a gem! Our daughter is very shy, but loves sports and academics. We were slightly concerned about social aspects of beginning high school, but she's become such a happy and confident young lady. I'm glad we made the decision to send her to Rio Mesa because she's found several friends just like her, who are focused and responsible kids.
