We came with a tour bus and we had a guided tour of the highlights of the museum then allowed to walk around and see, read what ever we wanted. I really enjoyed this as you could ask questions and take your time looking around. A lot of history and interesting facts. They also had a yard of old farm equipment, black smith shop, settlers home and an old chicken coop that resembles many that I still see today.

Wonderful small town museum that goes well beyond normal to show the region's history. Be prepared for the prison section as it is a stark view of our American culture.

Very well put together small town museum, definitely worth the trip. There is a seven dollar entry fee for adults however children are free. Great place to take the family if you are interested in the history of the area. The staff was very friendly and even suggested a scavenger hunt for the kids. This is a must see if you are in the area!

Where greeted like family. Our guest experience manager welcomed us. Explained the layout and different exhibits available. We had an appointment to use the archives, all the materials we had requested were ready for review. What a treasure trove of information and photos for our interest. Barbara Kelly checked on us from time to time to ensure our needs were being met. This is a gold mine of Arizona Historical artifacts. Our 3 hours was very enjoyable and look forward to our return

Another wonderful museum proving that history can be fun. I was expecting ho-hum, but it was pretty fun. They have a nice mural on the outside side wall, and some historical items and wagon on display outside. Inside, although it's just two main rooms- there's so much to see. What I like is how they actually put a lot of model displays (vs making it very sign and photo heavy). This allowed me to feel immersed and it was less overwhelming to absorb all the facts.

On the right hand side, they had exhibits on geology, animals, and historical models of a dentist office, stagecoach, and more. They even had shelf displays of items from the past like silverware used. It was fun to read the signs too for each display.
On the left hand side, they had historical models of bedrooms, dining rooms, and displays of weapons, prisons, and more. There was more to read on this sign as there were more interpretive signs. So much to see. You could easily spend at least an hour here.
Really had a blast, and the museum staff are just so friendly!

Edit: Also just found out they have exhibits in the back too. Don't forget to checkout the back- where they have an ADA-paved trail along with interpretive signs. They have old farming equipment and two display rooms (one of a cabin/outhouse, and the other of a blacksmith shop).

We took our children here and had a great time. We were greeted by an amazingly nice woman that was very sweet to us and our small children.

There was a craft for the children and a plethora of well preserved wide range of historical items (two rooms full of artifacts such as old clothing, furniture, dishware, Hohokam treasures, guns, radios, prison records, medical equipment, you name it). There was even a whole other area outside that we barely got into looking at.

We spent about an hour there but could have stayed much longer if able. Looking forward to coming there again! So much to learn.
