Longboat Key is gorgeous, and we’ve been vacationing here for years. This was our first time at the Outrigger. We had a 1 bedroom, 1 bath unit. It needs some care, but it was clean except for the raw chicken left in the garbage disposal. That was icky!||The appliances do not work well. The coffee maker and toaster should be replaced. The toilet paper holder is barely hanging on the wall and the shower handle is loose. Some furniture is nice but other pieces are in need of replacement, especially the couch and the mattress on the bed was not super comfy. WiFi is non existent - they claim it’s here but we found that hard to believe. ||The pool area and beach chairs appear super old and many are damaged. The pool deck and pool - no clue if anyone was cleaning. It did not appear to be the case. By 3:00 in the afternoon, the pool is totally shaded - no sun. ||The unit was nicely stocked with beach items such as umbrellas but we didn’t use those so no idea if they were in working condition. The location is on the beach, beach is glorious, and the unit is adequate but needs some TLC. Would not be our first choice when we return, but for a place to rest your head at night after enjoying the beach all day, it’s adequate. ||Management is not on premises but not far away. No communication with anyone except after making reservation and before checkout.

Spent 2 perfect weeks at Outrigger Unit #8 ! Unit was spotless and very well equipped! Plenty of bath towels as well as beach towels and extra sheets for a 2 week stay...kitchen well equipped with everything you need. Grills outside and a gorgeous view from the lanai... Lots of beach toys were also available ....just perfect! Smooth check in with RVA! Highly recommend!! There is a coin operated laundry on premises however it only accepts quarters (lots of them)....a machine that makes change would be a nice addition since really no one carries change these days!

I stayed at the outrigger unit 4 with my newborn baby, husband and mom. We were excited because we thought it would look exactly like the pictures. |It turned out to be one of the most disgusting stays I have ever encountered. Below is a list of issues that I reported to RVA management. after we tried having our issues fixed by the cleaning people multiple times, my mom wouldn’t continue to stay with us because her room was still dirty and she was getting bug bites throughout the night in her bed. |Floors filthy|Food on fridge|Dried blood on bed sheets|Bedsheets smelled like sour milk|Bugs in beds - got attacked throughout the night|No wifi|Dishes put away dirty|Dishwasher had broken soap dispenser |Blinds missing from window in all rooms|Missing ceiling fan in master- stored in closet|* We had to have the cleaning people come out three times because they couldn’t get it clean the first two times. |* We had to have an IT person come out to get us Wi-Fi after three days of not having it|* Our VA gave us a credit of 20% which was one free night for our troubles. This was the most they would offer|* I will dispute this in small claims court because I’m not paying for staying here it was absolutely disgusting even after they tried cleaning it. When they came to clean it they put sheets on the bed that smelled like sour milk and we still had little bugs in our beds|* I would never stay at this unit ever again. It looks nothing like the pictures, it’s false advertisement. |All during covid!!!|

Stayed in Unit in Sept. 2018 during "red tide". But, no dead fish smell, beach was great. Very nice modern unit. Met the pool tech while swimming in it. He is very meticulous in checking the water quality and checking filters. Super clean and no chlorine smell. (He explained why). Units are right on the beach. Very short trail walk (about 30 ft.) through the beach garden to get to the sand and ocean. All balconies are screened in so no bugs. Kitchen well stocked with dishes, utensils, etc. and new looking appliances. Nice furniture, very comfortable bed. Good WiFi and cable TV. Very friendly staff. If I could afford it, I would just rent the place for the whole year. Was sad to have to leave. - John from Indiana

My sis and I stayed at #9. I had engaged a beachhouse, but upon arriving, I could not locate it,and when we did, it was not what we thought it would be. So, I pulled into the Outrigger, with no notice., Explained our dilemma, and within minutes, we were in Unit 9.. awesome, Gulf views, just great for me & my sis, we had an awesome visit! TWO years later, we had a larger group, and booked # 3, VERY roomy.. we were spoiled! BIG place, great for two families! NOT high end by any means, but very roomy! Two bedrooms upstairs, and I selected BR downstairs. My nephew enjoyed the pull out sofa on the main floor living room, in fact,, besides from going fishing and swimming in the ocean AND the nice pool, he elected to just chill and play his games (wi fi) whilst his mama and grandma and me did our thing.. NOT beachy decorated, but very very accommodating and comfortable.. we stayed one week. laundry nearby, just a short walk down the sidewalk..my niece and her husband came over for a day. we did steaks on the grill, very nice. I would stay again. feels like home.

We stayed in unit 4 and it was excellent. Keep in mind you are not at the Ritz. This is a seaside low-rise building which was probably constructed in the 1960s or 70s. It looks and feels like it is from days gone by but if you embrace the laid back style you'll love it! Our unit was on the ground floor with a big bedroom, living room and a well stocked kitchen. We had cable TV in the bedroom and living room along with all the supplies you'd want; towels, linens and toiletries. The best thing is the fact that the patio meets the sand of the beach. You could probably throw a stone and hit the water from the patio! Nice sand and the warmest ocean water I've ever been in. The only downside was it wasn't close to our relatives who were not on LBK. But maybe that was a good thing, ha!

We wanted a weekday "beachy" getaway with no red tide in the Gulf of Mexico. We were traveling with my elderly, retired parents who are on a fixed income. We wanted to be directly on the beach and have affordable pricing. The Outrigger Beach Resort lives up to all the good/excellent reviews I read before booking our room. We were all pleasantly surprised to have a low rate of $122 during the month of October (no ocean views or efficiencies at this wonderful low rate). Our updated and clean room had a king sized bed and sofa -maybe a sleeper sofa. My parents had two double beds and a table. Both were spacious and provided a safe in the closet. There is a restaurant and tiki bar on the premises, both of which had good, reasonably priced drinks and a variety of food as well (burgers, pizza, nachos, potato skins, turkey clubs etc). There are oceanside rooms and oceanview rooms but you'll pay more money. However if you wanted to travel off "season" (when rates are lower), I highly recommend this resort in Fort Myers on the Gulf of Mexico. It is close to the pier and "Times Square," a touristy type of area with t-shirt, shoe stores, bars, clothing shops, and restaurants on the Gulf of Mexico and ice cream shops a plenty!

The BEST part about the Outrigger Beach Resort is the staff who work there! Everyone works hard all day to take care of the facility and keep it very clean and comfortable. Also all the staff members were super accommodating and friendly too. A shout out to Carl, a maintenance staff member who told me he loves his job, and went out of his way for us when he brought my mother a "beach wheel chair," both days, as well as fixing the shower head and bringing a handicapped shower chair into my parents room. I was so impressed with the customer service shown and cleanliness for an affordable resort.

The pool had plenty of chairs but beware of the lack of beach chairs directly on the beach. You'll need to add an additional $30 a day to your vacation if you want an umbrella and two rickety old beach chairs. That was my parent's only complaint, as there is plenty of room for the hotel resort to provide beach chairs/umbrellas. The front office staff said that "...after turtle nesting season ends in November, cabanas and chairs are provided by the hotel, not a vender..." I believe those are also with a $30 a day charge (they offer a $10 off coupon for those). It's nice when beach resorts provide beach chairs with no additional cost, but overall this is definitely a great place for families to go with lots of other "gator" and boating activities nearby. Thank you Outrigger for providing a comfortable and affordable beach vacay.

If you are looking for a place out of the hustle and bustle this is it. Was a little apprehensive at first because it is an older condo but was very pleased with the cleanliness and updated condo #6. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. We spent a lot of time on the lanai listening to the waves roll in. Would definitely stay here again.
