So Orion's is on the expensive side of stores you will visit in Kodiak. Typically you can find gear for most of your extreme sports you'd be willing to pursue while here in Kodiak but my advice is that you check other stores or online first. With shipping, they tend to mark their gear up quite a bit.

I've called requesting a few different services and items like kayaking, climbing gear, cold weather gear, and ski bindings just to be negotiated out of a sale or a service on numerous occasions. Not sure what they specialize in... but typically if you sell snow skis (with no bindings) and you also sell top of the line bindings...one would think you could mount bindings on skis as well. I know people who have gotten bindings mounted at orions, but it seems I might have called on a bad day...again.

The largest and most comprehensive mountaineering store on Kodiak. Lots of high end outdoor gear and if you catch the owners while they are in there they know everything about Kodiak adventuring. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. Really grown over the years!

Kinda spendy but they have an awesome selection and SUCH good style for their apparel and a good range of awesome brands for gear. Friendly and knowledgeable staff that doesn't hover, but are also very quick to assist customers when help is needed or questions need answered. I could literally spend thousands here.

This is the only place in Alaska that you can get arc'teryx LEAF products! They helped me out even though I was in Kodiak for a short amount of time and the item I wanted was on backorder for a few months. We waited for the jacket to come in and they shipped directly to me in another town!
