Super fun experience! My boyfriend and I enjoyed all of the exhibits and compared it to a real life Mystery Shack! The rooms/exhibits are really small, (downtown austin what can you do) so I got a bit claustrophobic, but the outdoor area helped. It wasn’t super crowded, but because of the small space you might bump into people depending on how busy it is. The front desk people are super nice and helpful! We parked in a nearby parking spot and walked over since there is no parking immediately adjacent to the museum. The wax museum was super fun, and the gorilla made for a great picture op. Would recommend!

Great place to take visitors and give them a taste the weirdness Austin is famous for. It was fun, interesting, and downright silly at times, which was perfect for the day we planned. It's next to a few cool bars and smack in the middle of all the 6th Street craziness. We went on a Sunday afternoon with our out of town guests. The place was chock full of fascinating facts, and literally everywhere you look, there is something to catch your eye. Provided some great laughs and photos.

This was weird and awesome! We had a great time looking and reading all the exhibits. It is small but jam packed. Worth the time to stop. The people were very nice and informative. Takes about an hour hour and half if you look and read everything.

Great wacky place to spend an hour or two poking about and getting some fun pictures.
They have an awesome puppet rig from Gremlins, a medical curiosities section, some wild and hairy creatures from beyond and other things to terrifying to even MENTION.

(The wax figures aren't for touching with the exception of King Kong's hand that you can squeeze into for a picture.)

This place is helping to keep Austin weird for sure. First and foremost, the employees were terrific! The attractions were fun too, but you need to take it all lightly. I think kids will get a kick out of this place, but as a sober adult, not so much. Highly recommend if you want to take a break from the craziness of the surrounding bars!

This was a unique and interesting experience. My family and I really enjoyed this 3 story exhibit, it doesn't look big from the outside but when u get into the exhibit it is much larger it took us about 40 minutes to get through. Lots of really neat things to see and read about including a small wax museum with king kong
(A fun interactive photo op). This was a good thing to do on a rainy day to kill some time and very affordable.

FUN! i love creepy stuff and oddities so when we were looking for stuff to do today in Austin, this was a no-brainer. Tons of creepy artifacts & stories, wax sculptures of classic movie monsters, and (what they say is) a prehistoric man encased in ice. (it was on an episode of Unsolved Mysteries.) The entire place seems like a love letter to Tod Browning. We really enjoyed it.

My son and I were in Austin for F1 and had some hours to spare before our shuttle to the venue. I found this on Google and decided to try it; it was the best decision. While it seemed geared toward kids, I thoroughly enjoyed the artifacts and displays. I recommend that once you are here, you immerse yourselves in the displays and spend time reading the stories around each. They are fascinating.
