Our family has been visiting Twain Harte for decades, and the Mountain Bookshop for almost as long. It’s an always “must go” destination every summer. Books of course are a key attraction, but they have a wonderful children’s store, great kitchen items and fun gifts. The ribbon and greeting card selection in particular are knockouts - hard to duplicate anywhere. Looking forward to my annual visit soon.

This bookstore is super cute. They have best sellers, classics, niche books, and all sorts of unique and beautiful gifts. They have art supplies and journal items, toys, children's books, coloring books and lamps, scarves, and jewelry. The ladies that work there are very helpful and sweet. My whole family loves this store.

Mtn. Bookshop is a beautiful place and I always feel the serenity as soon as I go through the door. The employees are there because it's THEIR creation and they strive to keep it an oasis! They have so much for up here & they can order anything that's not readily on the shelves. A LOVELY treasure for children's books and gifts too.

I walked in near closing time and the lady told me I have 2 minutes. It was extremely rude. I had just gotten off work and was trying to grab a quick book and new they were closing, but instead of offering me good service and saying “hey were closing we can give you 5-10 mins” she literally said TWO MINUTES. Lol pricey books too I usually don’t complain but with that type of service I’ll go to amazon. Let me add this is the holiday season as well, yikessss coal in her stocking

I strongly believe we should support our local bookstores. The Mountain Bookshop is a gem. The staff are very helfpful and knowledgeable. The selection of books for adults and children is very good and current. Their gift store is great too with a wide variety of products.

The best bookstore and gift shop around. And it's been around since The Junction Shopping Center opened 35 years ago. I bought my Christmas cards there yesterday and a rechargeable reading light. It's nice to have an independent bookstore in Sonora. I love this place.
