In our opinion, one of the coolest restaurants in the area! The update is very cool, but we absolutely adore the area “under the trees!” String lights, just feet from the water and a dock you can go check out just beautiful after the sun goes down. Food was amazing. Drinks were great. Server was awesome. Places like this and The Sandbar (owned by the same company) are my Florida standard when looking for great vacation dinner spots. Love love love!!! Does not get any better!

Everyone else at my table had an amazing meal. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo, was not expecting it to be spicy. It was almost like they dropped jalapeños in the sauce on accident. Waitress offered to get me a new one, the second one tasted the same unfortunately. It's a shame cause it tasted so good, I just don't handle spice that well. Maybe it was just the batch of sauce for the day was too spicy? I don't know for sure, but I don't plan on having spicy Alfredo again lol. The restaurant itself was beautiful and relaxing. Drinks were great, and our waitress, Carrie, was a sweetheart. They comped the meal and we went on our way with some key lime pie to go!

The service was great and our server Jack was amazing! The food? Not as good. This is supposed to be a medium rare “Waygu” steak. It’s well done and tough as leather. We mentioned it to the manager, he said it was perfect and he would not make us another one! He made the server return it to us and would not come to the table himself!

A local suggested we go here and it was a beautiful quiet hideaway spot. Service was wonderful Zach was awesome. Prices were a little higher than some places. We just did appetizers the spicy shrimp and the corn jalapeno hush puppies they were good.

A beautiful waterside table with great service from Ryan and delicious meals and cocktails, left us wanting for nothing! The blackjack and grouper sandwiches, Caesar salad with blackened mahi mahi and tuna poke bowl and tater tots were fantastic! Love this place!

Food is okay, not worth it. Me and my husband had stomach issues after this dining although we ate different meals.
Restaurant is nice itself. We set outside with a beautiful view to the water.

I was down in Florida on vacation and just wanted some great fresh seafood. So I thought this place would be a nice place to stop. I was taking an old friend to lunch. The menu had a trio choice, which ended up being a zucchini corn dish in a butter sauce, three shrimp, three sea scallops, and a very small piece of haddock. For $36, I thought I would’ve got more meat than that. I felt very cheated in what I paid for that meal and just wanted more. I will say the food was excellent, but I think for $36 it should’ve had four shrimp and four scallops and more than an inch wide small piece of haddock.
I realize now why so many people were ordered hamburgers and french fries, but I was just wanting some fresh seafood.

Mar Vista Dockside is a total gem. The setting is just dreamy - sitting right on the water, you feel like you're on vacation even if you're not. The gentle breeze and the sound of the waves create such a relaxing atmosphere.

I couldn't resist trying the Longboat Key Rum Runner - it was the perfect refreshing drink for a sunny day. The soft shell crab was amazing! Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and full of flavor. It was definitely a highlight of my meal.

The only downside is that the prices are a bit on the high side. But hey, you’re paying for the location and the experience, right? It's totally worth it for a special occasion or when you just want to treat yourself.

Overall, Mar Vista Dockside is a must-visit if you're in Longboat Key. It's the kind of place you go to unwind, enjoy delicious food, and soak up the beautiful scenery.
