Review: Manatee Lagoon

Manatee Lagoon is a fantastic stop for kids and families, offering a unique opportunity to observe manatees up close. The highlight of our visit was seeing more than 10 manatees around 2 PM, making it a memorable experience for everyone.

The facility features a small indoor museum that provides engaging educational content about manatees and their habitat, making it both fun and informative for children and adults alike. The environment is clean, family-friendly, and well-maintained.

Additional perks include free parking, clean restrooms, and plenty of space to enjoy a relaxed lunch stop. Whether you’re looking to spend a few hours learning about marine life or just make a quick stop during a trip, Manatee Lagoon is a great choice. Highly recommended for families and nature enthusiasts!

This is a nice relaxing place to visit and attempt to see the Manatees. They were not there when we stopped by, but we did see a lot of fish and iguana's running around and one was swimming in the water. Great educational center that you can walk through. This is free to the public, but I do recommend giving a donation.

FREE and it’s a pretty nice place. They have some sea grass and fishes in tanks that you can see plus a whole museum that informs you on manatees. Unfortunately, seeing manatees fully depends on if they’re there so I would recommend maybe using the live cams on their website and checking if you can see manatees and if you can, then go visit. Manatees come to the place depending on the season (winter) so make sure you come accordingly. They also have cute plushies and bracelets (check the photo attached) and they’re pretty cheap.

Had to make a quick stop to see the manatees. This place did not disappoint. Free parking, easy to get to, many manatees were there at the time. It was raining, but we were still excited to see them. Then went inside for the beautiful educational center and gift shop

Amazing and very educational introduction to Florida Manatees for visitors of all ages. Large free parking lot, free entrance, best to visit on a very cold day in January. There are various tours and programs at the Discovery Center, small gift shop, clean bathrooms. Large outdoor terraces offer good view of the Manatee Lagoon, and the surrounding Lake Worth Lagoon.

Isabelle was a great guide. She was so informative. And funny. I learned a lot about the manatee. That I had no idea about. And after the tour was over we were lucky enough to see a mother and a baby outside the baby came up and stuck his nose out of the water. so cute.

My son and I went on a Tuesday in November around opening time. Despite it being Manatee season, we did not see any Manatees. I knew that was a possibility and it was still worth the 1hr+ drive to visit. We played the large connect 4 game outside, enjoyed the water views, and the 2 story facility was beautiful. We purchased souvenirs from the gift shop and used the penny press machine. We did see fish and even 2 sharks in the water.
