This state park is in my top three. It's clean and well kept. The sites are nice and big and accommodating for all types of camping. They are paved and pretty level. They are raised a bit, so there's a step down/up or sloped at the end. There are plenty of sites to choose from and extra parking available. Bring your toys, boats, bikes, jet skis, fishing poles, and the kids and dogs. Nice atmosphere. Clean restroom/shower combos. Fire pits and picnic tables. The lake is huge and beautiful. A very peaceful and serene view. The trees are bare at this time we're here, but when they're leafed out, there's plenty of nice shade, I'm sure. We'll be back, no doubt!

We decided to do a last-minute camping trip, and Lake Somerville was one of the few places that had campsites available. We'd never been there, and it was relatively close. I'm so glad we got to experience Lake Somerville! It's such a beautiful place with a beautiful lake and great hiking trails! The bathrooms were very clean, and the park was well kept overall. They also have some bald eagles that live nearby, so you may even be lucky enough to spot one! This park is so nice and I look forward to returning for another camping trip.

We stayed here for a Cub Scout campout weekend. We had a guided bug tour and really enjoyed it. The campsites are a little bit smaller compared to some other state parks, but the close proximity to Houston is great.

First time here and it has been an amazing experience! 3hr drive from Arlington. It’s absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The staff are wonderful. We are in Yaupon loop site 13. We have a 20ft tent and it snuggled nicely under the tree. Just a short walk down to the gorgeous lake and sandy shore! Great time walking and biking on trails.

There are lots of places for trailer hookups, trails and boat ramp. It is very peaceful and there are some trailer hookups close to the lake. It cost $5 per person to enter.

This is a great place to see a ton of wildlife between the lake trails and paddling on Yegua creek (otters, alligator, snakes and more). Some decent stargazing at night too! I'll be coming back with the fam so the kids can play in the sand.
