Hampton Inn Nanuet - Nanuet, New York

We came to spend a night at this Hampton Inn in Nanuet, we are from Brooklyn, and I have travelled to 42 countries around Europe, the Caribbean, Middle East and a couple of countries in Africa and have to say that Emily and Cynthia were really nice and had such great attitude. It’s all about service and they gave that to us. Thank you, my kids had a great experience staying at this hotel, the room was very nice, quiet, and very spacious; next time we’ll come prepared to go to the pool. forgot to say very clean, please say thanks to the cleaning staff as well.

Rooms are overall decent and spacious. However, the toiletries in our room were not refilled (completely empty). When we informed the white front desk agent with glasses about this, she could not have cared less. A simple sorry for the inconvenience would have sufficed, but she seemed to be the one more inconvenienced in this situation and could not tear her eyes away from her phone/computer. Elevator also needs maintenance, would glitch out often. For those with dietary restrictions, the hot food is not labeled so beware. The central AC is loud but not an issue if you like white noise. You might be better off choosing the Hilton Garden than this for your stay.

We stayed here for two nights and found it to be a very nice hotel. We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms on the first floor and were very happy with it. It was clean and modern and the woman at the front desk was very nice. Free breakfast was good as well!

We didn’t have an uneventful stay (the fire alarm went off the first night and our next door neighbor was blaring music at 11 pm the second night), but the fire department came quickly and cleared us to go back in (the culprit was a dryer on the second floor I guess) and a quick call to the front desk soon quieted the music. Overall, very happy with the staff response in both these instances.

Location was okay - it’s a very busy commercial area and you can only access the hotel from one direction on the road which required us to drive down the road and turn around.

I traveled to NY for my mother's funeral. I arrived very late, but informed the Hampton Inn through Expedia. When I arrived with my wife and daughter at nearly 4am, the front door was locked and no one was at the front desk or answering the courtesy phone. At 4 am we had to scramble to find another hotel. When I came back the next day to Hampton Inn, I was told by the manager to call Expedia. On the way to my MOTHER'S FUNERAL, I was told to call Expedia! Now Expedia tells me that the manager will not respond! Waiting a week! Hampton Inn should be refunding me for first night of my stay at the very minimum and any decent human being or establishment would refund me for my whole stay. Disgusting.

Honestly, it's a typical average Hampton Inn. Nothing exceptionally good, nothing terrible.

My quality of sleep was a little poor, as I think the blowers for the AC/Heat were either above or adjacent to my room, and could be easily heard during the night, even when my AC/Heat was off. When my AC/Heat was on, WOW IT WAS NOISY !

Most of the front desk were friendly, but one of the ladies that was on a night shift when I arrived, and the next evening, was more interested in her phone than any guest :O

Overall, I'd probably try the Hilton Garden Inn, or another brand of hotel, next time I'm in the area.

My experience with Hampton Inn Nanuet was definitely less than satisfactory. First, I called a week and a half in advance and asked to book a crib for my room. I was assured by the representative on the phone that the crib had been reserved for me. However, when I got there, I was informed that they only had one crib available and that had been given to someone else.
Secondly, our bathroom sink was clogged throughout our 2-day trip although I complained repeatedly and was informed that someone would come and check up on it when I was out for the day. The matter was not resolved even by the time I checked out.
Another disappointment was the elevator. They only had one and it was often busy and slow.
The pros were that the complimentary breakfast was good and items constantly refilled till closing time; and the cleanliness of the rooms and amenities were otherwise satisfactory.

January, 5th at 1.30am i went downstairs to the lobby for a cup of coffee. The coffee was cold and when I asked the reception to make some fresh coffee she said, use the microwave and don't bother me. Then I asked her name and she "you don't need to know my name". Horrible!

One of the worst Hilton’s I have stayed at, and I am a very frequent traveler. The rooms had mold on the ceilings, which probably contributed to the musty smell, they only freshen rooms every other day (could accept this, but they don’t tell you that at check in!), air conditioner broken in the fitness room, conditioner out in the shower (so prior servicing was bad). They offer free breakfast, but it’s the most limited I have ever seen. I had to order from Panera my 2nd morning. Lastly, the front door was broken when I left so I had to try and push the heavy sliding door open.
