Terrible Customer Support on account closed in good standing.

I needed a previous account statement from back when my account was active. I could not log into my online account anymore because my service was no longer active.

I called to get into my account and despite having all of my account information available they said I would have to wait 30 days for the information to be sent to me and there would be no way to access it online or to expedite the process.

I could understand a day or two but 30 days is ridiculous. I paid every bill on time and closed my account in good standing. All emailed invoices truncate information and I needed a non-truncated version.

It should not take 30 days to get access to information that I am locked out of through no fault of my own.

GCI used to be great, when they were located in Alaska and the customer service was anchorage based. Great help, no waiting online or in a que on the phone. Ever since they outsourced their crap to India it’s trash. Shouldn’t change the internet or phone but for some reason everything’s changed. Internet goes out all the time here in Juneau. Understand things happen , but this has become extreme. It’s disappointing things have changed here because they used to be great. Calling people in India who don’t understand you or you don’t understand them (yes it’s India got off the phone tonight with a lady whom said she was in india). Come on GCI do better. Looks like starlink or acs are next up , face palm.

GCI charges way too much for their crappy broadband, and they will never send you a bill and will shut off your internet with no notice. When I had service in Sitka Alaska the girl at the counter was so rude to me that I closed my account right then and there. Unfortunately where I live we have no other option for internet services, but I sure will be lobbying the other companies to open up in our neighborhood. In summary, GCI sucked, sucks, and will forever suck.

Absolute horrible customer service. Set up service and install for a Friday morning. They no show or no call for the appointment they missed.. I lost an entire day pay waiting for them to show.. this is the worst company ever.. there customer service is some other country so you can’t even understand what they say.. absolutely horrible company

I canceled my service and was still charged for another month. Customer service wouldn't even talk to me about it on the phone. The store wouldn't back down stating I was paying for the previous month. Not true since I paid the first month up front then paid every month after that for the coming month. They closed my online account so I have not access and they keep trying to autobill me monthly. Had to block payments from the CC side. DO NOT DO BUISNESS WITH THEM!

Paid for internet for a full year in December 5th, 2022. Very next statement they short my credited account by a full month, Not only do they DENY fault, they dance around the issue, and tell me to stop paying my bill ahead of time to prevent issues. After their "rate increase of $5 in FEBRUARY 2023, not only do they STILL deny fault, NOW I'm shorted 4 months of internet!

If give it a 5 star rating but the customer service reps never smile. Otherwise, it's usually fast doing business which I like since it is usually real warm in the Juneau office. Good job!

Hours are sliced since the pandemic. But the personnel are prompt helpful friendly and consistently adept at their jobs efficiently providing customer service, even when there is a line you never have to wait long.
