I recently visited Game X Change, and I can’t recommend this place highly enough! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome, which set the tone for my entire experience. The management here is truly top-notch. They clearly care about their customers, and it shows in the way they run the store and ensure everyone has a great experience.

The inventory is fantastic! They have a huge selection of games, consoles, and accessories, including some hard-to-find retro gems alongside the latest releases. It’s like stepping into a gaming treasure trove! No matter your gaming taste, you’ll find something exciting on their shelves.

The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and super helpful. They answered all my questions, shared recommendations, and even chatted with me about my favorite games. It’s rare to find a place where the employees are so enthusiastic and genuinely invested in the products they sell.

I don’t think I ever got his name, but there’s a young man with curly hair that works there. And he is the SWEETEST guy. He was in the Gainesville store tonight when I went in with my dad. A previous time ago, I went in there looking for a Nintendo Switch controller because I had dropped and broke mine. He asked me the next time I went in if I ever found the controller I needed. He is so kind and considerate! If I knew his name, I’d mention him. Boy should get a raise!!

The first time I did business with Game X Change was at Fan Expo Dallas. Been here quite a bit (as well as the Sherman location) and bought a few used computer parts. Had to return a graphics card that wasn't working, but I was able to exchange it for another one they had. I go to Movie Trading Co alot and noticed Game X's prices can be quite a bit more. With that being said, I wish they wrapped their used movies like Movie Trading, to avoid them being stolen which happened to a bluray I was interested in buying.

Other than that you can find some cool stuff here.

Usually had good experiences but recently went to buy a used PS 5 we asked the return policy if it’s broken. They said unless we bring it in and they can plug it in and see it’s broken they won’t refund the money. I know they have a policy where you get in store credit or they’ll swap out for another one but they said they would give us a full refund if it was legitimately broken. We took it home within 24 hours it went black and turned off. It said it needed to be factory reset. There was nothing they could do apparently. Spent $500 for it and no we didn’t want to swap it because when asked if we took that one what happens if it broke too they again said they couldn’t do anything about it. Then the manager said “we will not longer do business with you” $500 is a lot of money then proceeded to lie to us that we would get our money back if it was broke and they couldn’t do anything about it. Couldn’t even get the PS 5 back when we tried returning it. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!

Absolutely Awesome Place.

If you're a nerd that lives near Gainesville and you haven't been here yet, you are missing out. They have movies, video games, plushes, figures, manga, and so much more. And amazing prices. A figure my girlfriend saw for $21 online is only $7 here. Give them business, because unlike some lazier retro game stores that overcharge, they're absolutely worth it.

Prices can be a little high but love coming in & looking through stuff. Staff is really friendly which is a big improvement from last year. My son loves their blue rays & video games..we always seem to leave with something.
