Absolutely incredible first experience at Game Santa Cruz! Hands down the best tabletop board game selection in Santa Cruz. I’m not much for RPGs, DnD, etc, but it seemed like there was a WIDE selection of content and merchandise for those as well. Without a doubt the largest selection of content within Santa Cruz County. Could have spent a few more hours looking thru things!

Wes, the owner, was extremely knowledgeable and we had a great conversation for a while about his stock, the board game cafe model, and the differences of standard vs deluxe editions of board games. He was very helpful to all the customers who came in while I was there—some just looking for gifts, people more “in-the-know,” students looking for a fun activity, etc.

They have 3 tables, and it’s a by-the-hour rental system to play any of the games from their library of 100+ titles that Wes hand-selected. A favorite quote from my brief time in the store was that Wes said he “only stocks games that he would play himself!” The store is very well-laid-out, and the vibes are fantastic.

They are also a Stonemaier Affiliate, for all you Wingspanners out there! (Or if you like Scythe, Viticulture, etc. etc. etc.)

I walked out happy and excited for the future of this new establishment (and with the modular board for Scythe—if that gives you an idea of the extensive variety they’ve got). Go Wes!

Went to their free D&D event a little while ago. Lots of fun, cool people. Wes is fun to talk to, he has played pretty much everything they carry. He’s great to talk to if you’re unsure what you’re after. The hand pies are also really good.

amazing store and very knowledgeable store owner (he’s also the only employee!) great selection of games. it’s also a cafe with lil drinks and snacks also has a area where you can play games and hang out with friends. 12/10

My bf and I stopped by here today after staring eagerly at their Instagram page while I was on the clock (shhh).
It's such a cool place! Nice selection of board games, dice, and miniatures. I don't know much about these things, but he was so stoked about everything in the shop and I was mesmerized by all the cool dice they sell.

They have savory and sweet pies/pie slices as well as bottled drinks. Looks like coffee or other warm beverages will be available as well.

There's an area with tables for you to play with friends. Over all really cool experience and we will definitely be back. The owners are super friendly and knowledgeable too.

Great selection of games to play and to buy— enjoyed getting to try out a new game before purchasing. The owner was really friendly and the space was comfortable. An awesome addition to downtown Santa Cruz!

Went in here looking for a very specific game they were out of. The person working there realized they had it in there library of games to rent out and they graciously sold it to me so I would be able to leave with it that day instead of having to come back when it was in stock
