Definitely make reservations ahead of time online. We were there to check in for our tour and the families that didn't have tickets yet were being told there wasn't any availability for the next four hours. There definitely isn't enough to do in the town to kill that much time.

The tour was awesome, we'd never been in a real cave before. We all thought it was so cool. They say it's strenuous, but it's not really. The footing is tricky because the food is slick and wet in spots. You will have to crouch down in numerous spots to walk through, but it's not claustrophobic at all. The rooms are all pretty big, it's just transitioning between them that you need to be careful.

Our guide shut all the lights off at one point, which was unnerving, but a cool experience at the same time.

Absolutely a must see in Florida. I had no idea we even had any caves here.

Florida Caverns State Park is an absolute hidden gem! The guided cave tour was incredible — the rock formations are stunning, and the lighting really brings out the beauty of the caverns. We even saw a tiny bat hanging above us, which was such a cool surprise!

The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and the entire tour was fun and informative for both kids and adults.

Helpful tip: When you exit the cave, turn right and take the nature trail — it’s a peaceful walk filled with native plants, wildflowers, and beautiful forest scenery. It’s the perfect way to wrap up the experience.

Highly recommend stopping here if you’re passing through the area. We’ll definitely be back!

We took a quick day trip today and had the BEST time! Our tour guide of the caverns was Alec and he was absolutely incredible. Alec was kind, patient, funny and knowledgeable. He really made the tour so enjoyable! He’s such a gem!

The walking trails around the park are well maintained. Hikes were definitely more challenging than I’m used to with all of the inclines, but manageable and fun.

Be sure to get there early if you want to go on the cavern tour. The tickets sell out fast! I hope to come back soon and spend more time enjoying the rest of the park! Thankfully, the friendly woman at the entrance gate advised us to go straight to the gift shop to purchase our tickets, which was a great tip!

10/10 recommend. My only complaint is we didn't spend more time there. We started several trails but didn't get to finish them. It's huge and beautiful out there. Loved the cavern tour and the cute little shop. We had some amazing RV neighbors too. Sweet older couple from up north. Wonderful family experience!

What a gem! The cavern tour was remarkably fascinating, especially for the price of admission. Our guide was well-trained and a lot of fun. Some of the hiking trails were pretty nice too, especially in the Winter if you're into birding. We couldn't believe we were still in Florida!
The tent campsites were small and close together, but we loved the view of the sunrise over the spring in the morning - and having a place to put our hammock was refreshing. Our tent has a somewhat large footprint (just bigger than your average 2 room and just smaller than your average 3 room), and it did not fit on the gravel (ugh, awful, damaging gravel!) tent spot.
The bathrooms were reasonably clean -with real toilets and hot water! That hot water was an absolute treat.
But the women's restroom is missing the privacy curtain between the showers and the sinks (the shower stalls each have a curtain but the dressing/drying area is unhidden), so when creeping out to grab your towel on the hooks that are well out of reach of the shower itself, you're buck naked and hoping no one comes in the front door! Lol. In January, it was mostly a non-issue, but if the spring draws more campers in the summer, someone is gonna want to fix that. 😉

Had a wonderful time here today on the trails and in the cave. I'd say the cave tour is 100% worth it as it was my favorite part. The tour guides give lots of information about the history of the caves while still keeping it fun and interesting. Thought it'd be crowded or noisy since its spring break and likely a busy season but, i was pleasantly surprised that for most of the day (aside from the tour of course) we were mostly alone on the trails with just a couple passersbys.

This place is so cool 🥹
We went on a rainy day and could hear the water dripping.
We had a mix up with our tickets and Nicole helped us out straighten it out, she was also super friendly.
Avery was our tour guide and it was easy to hear her, she was hilarious and shared all kinds of fun facts. We all had a blast

Florida Caverns State Park is a 5 star stop for either day use or overnight !

We absolutely loved the cavern tour which is $15 per person and guided. You can’t go in without a guide and our guide was super informative. This is the ONLY cavern tour in Florida and we highly recommend it. Tour takes about an hour and is not handicapped friendly. There are stairs, tight spots and stooping involved to navigate the cave.

The campground is pristine with many areas for picnicking , biking and even has an equestrian area. A few campsites are dedicated for equestrians. E bikes were very handy in this state parks area, but there was a rental option for E bikes if yours is at home.

You can buy firewood for $6 cash right there from a camp host and the facilities in general are very clean and well organized. If you’re in the Marianna, FL area reserve this campground!

You can also just go in for day use to state parks area and for the caverns only. The caverns have a small gift shop with postcards, chips/ drinks and tshirts.

* Extra info- you’re allowed to tip your guide on the cavern tour so bring a few extra bucks if you feel they did good job.
