We attended a birthday children's party. The staff was very good with making certain we found our way in, tending to the children and of course guiding them slowly through a nature walk just outside the main building along the raised wooden walkway.

There's not a whole lot to discuss about the local marsh and wildlife which made this most appropriate for young audiences.

The indoor facilities are very spacious and clean.

The only criticisms are that the wooden boardwalk had a couple weak spots beginning to rot and a couple parents thought it would have been something that was better maintained. Inside, there were numerous hornets flying about the windows. It really did give cause for concern with three and four year old children standing inches from them while the older children couldn't help but notice. Your results may vary. 😇

The DuPont environmental educational center is full of surprises. During my visit, I saw Osprey and Blue Swallow happily fly around the trail. It was drizzling, which adds to the beauty along this river side.

Great place for jogging, walking and biking. Boardwalk is clean and amazing. When I went this place, it was not crowded at all. A great place to stay close to nature and explore. The scenery is lot more beautiful in summer.

*Couple of parking spaces available.

Discovered this free urban wildlife and nature refuge after walking about 1 mile from the Delaware RiverWalk shopping area. The center exhibits were closed Monday when we visited but the boardwalks and trails were open. It's reclaimed from an industrial area of the Christina River.

If you like to find peace and quiet outside of the loudness of the city then I definitely recommend going to this place, the DuPont environmental education center, right next to riverfront river trail. There’s soo much to do on this trail, you can eat at the many restaurants here or you can walk the nice trails with friends. There are even people that jog, bike, roller skate, skateboard etc on the trails. There’s something for everyone!

This is a wonderful nature center that sits at the end of the River Walk along the Christiana River in Delaware. It has a circular boardwalk encircling a pond on the inner side and letting you experience the marshlands on the outer side. It sits on the Russell Petersen Wildlands named after a former governor if the state. He also was an innovated figure imagining the co-existence of nature in an urban setting. The freight train passes underneath the walking bridges to enter the center.
