Great experience that I would highly recommend to people traveling to Marco Island! Nikki, Bob, and Captain James did a wonderful job leading us through the water to see various dolphins. They're all extremely knowledgeable of the dolphins and know each of them very well. They named all of them and will point out each dolphin and provide details about them. The boat is mostly shaded, which is nice in Florida heat (though you will occasionally be in the sun!). We also got to visit Tigertail Beach for shelling. The kids had a blast viewing dolphins and finding seashells. Fun for kids and adults alike!

A great three hour adventure! The boat captain and two crew were extremely knowledgeable and outgoing. They were very good at locating dolphins and answering all questions. The tour caters to kids. Gave each child a booklet to fill out during the trip, and took the time to review each child’s answers toward the end of the trip. Maybe our outing was not the usual, but we saw a LOT of dolphins. Because the they are primarily a research organization, the crew could identify many of the individuals by name. They had the dolphins riding the boat’s wake, frolicking and jumping clear out of the water. We stopped at one of the islands for shell collecting before heading back to the dock. The 6 & 10 yr olds in our party (as well as the adults) really enjoyed it. And we all learned things we didn’t know about dolphins & their local environment. Highly recommended!
1/26/2025 we went back for another ride with Dolphin Explorer two days ago. It was just as much fun and educational as our first time. We saw over 20 dolphins close up. The crew were equally knowledgeable and eager to share that knowledge with all passengers. Their sole means of funding is ticket sales for these tours and on-line donations. They share their info with many other organizations, governmental and NGOs.

Wonderful tour for all ages! We saw 15+ individual dolphins both out in the open and right up next to the boat.
The boat was great, it had a sun shade, a toilet, drinking water, and sunny seats at the bow. The guide talked to us the whole time describing everything we saw and answered any questions we had.

What an absolutely fantastic experience!! Not only is this group excellent at their job and full of knowledge but they also seem to enjoy it as well! Our guide was Bob and our captain was Eddie, both of these guys were delightful and answered questions non stop for 3 hours. They spend so much time researching and following the dolphins that we had no problem just heading out on the boat and finding them. The boat had a bathroom, lots of space to move around, and waters in a cooler. My kids loved the young scientist clipboard to fill in facts and learn to identify dolphins. The trip INCLUDED a printed family photo and a photo of one of the dolphins that we saw during our trip. The shelling on Tigertail Beach is a beautiful sight whether you find any shells or not (and the shells are endless). We loved having the guides identify each dolphin and tell us their family line. The boat drives so smooth that we could easily walk around to move and see all the dolphins.

Amazing experience. Nikki, James and Captain Eddie were great. Nikki welcomes you with a great attitude and a smiling face. The 3 hours fly by with all the great info James was giving us. His passion shines though. Captain Eddie was great as well. The two make a great team! We ended seeing 22 dolphins on our tour. It was unbelievable. Thank you again and look forward to doing this again!

If you want to see dolphins and be educated on them this IS the tour for you. Incredibly knowledgeable and over 100 identified dolphins you'll be in the middle of it all. Highly recommended for kids and adults alike. Free easy parking and the most friendly helpful guides. Highly recommend

This was one of my favorite things we did on vacation in Marco Island! Highly recommend to take the 9 AM tour - booking online was very easy! Capt. Eddie & Master Naturalist Bob were excellent tour guides and we saw a total of 15 dolphins on our trip. Dolphin Explorer actually studies the area dolphins and can ID them based on their dorsal fins. Very educational for the kids & adults. The dolphins know the boat and will come right up to it and they love to play in the waves of the boat. We also saw lots of birds on the trip. You also make a stop on a beach to do some shelling / exploring. So glad we did this tour!

What an experience! Bob and Eddie are so passionate and knowledgeable in their trade. They are wonderful and kind guides to the dolphins in the Marco Island area. This was so worth it! I would recommend anyone and of all ages to go on this adventure. I want to thank them for all they showed us and ultimately taught us on this trip of a lifetime. And you get to go shelling on the north end of tiger trail Beach, that is less picked over, as a bonus to seeing all the dolphins. Truly enough good things can't be said for how great of an experience this was.
