I'm a fan of having nature at my fingertips and I think there's an awesome balance here of the ability to have all the wildlife, with also having safe trails throughout the park and other grounds for parking.

Apparently fishing is also allowed here, if y'all care to fish while visiting. I assume near the Blue Hole would be your best bet. I've seen catfish and bass there. Then many panfish and minnows.

Camping is also welcome there, as there are many grounds but they are often very crowded, especially on the weekends.

Last time I went there, I caught two beautiful water snakes! A beautiful Nerodia erythrogaster and a stunning Nerodia rhombifer, which did both bite, so definitely not something I'd encourage to anyone.

I also go there in search of all the cool bugs I can find and there's amazing biodiversity here! I love the vibe and everyone who I see visiting the place as well is friendly.

If you're not a huge fan of people, this may not be your personal favorite place to experience, but it's still to me, a wonderful spot to get away from normal every day BS.

There's a gift shop/convenient shop there and if you're early, sometimes a snow cone vendor will sell there!

THERES AN ENTRY FEE OF 16 DOLLARS if I recall unless you get the national parks pass for Texas, which is over 100 dollars and lasts a year.

We had so much fun here! We loved hiking up and down the river and the other hiking trails. It was so cool to see the dinosaur tracks! We had a blast swimming in the Blue Hole, and the scenic overlook was gorgeous! Loved that they had a water fountain on the hiking trail!

If I could give 100 stars I would! This was honestly one of the best state parks I have been to, and everyone who knows about should go! We saw Dino tracks, walked awesome trails and enjoyed the amazing scenery!

Dinosaur Valley State Park, nestled near Glen Rose, Texas, offers a unique blend of natural beauty, recreational activities, and a tangible connection to our prehistoric past.

It’s a great place to swim and bring the kiddos to see the dinosaur tracks. Make sure to check the parks FB page for clarity of the tracks, since most of it under water. It can appear muddy and hard to see after it rains.

It was a good hiking trails but not to much scenery except for a few dinosaur footprints and the river. Most of the footprints were in the river covered with silt so you couldn't see them. The only proof they were there was the signs posted, ex. The Ballroom area. We were a little disappointed because some of the trails that we wanted to hike were closed. Other than that, it was an easy hike.

Great place to hike on a cool spring morning. Easy drive from DFW, Waco or Austin. Trails from easy to challenging. Great swimming/wading spots and campgrounds. We did the Mammoth March last month and explored most of the trails in one long day.

Had a spur of explorative energy so we hauled the family here. It was cheap for us adults and the kids were free. I loved the opportunity to free roam, see some dinosaur tracks and let the kids play in the river. The trails looked awesome and wish I had more time to walk them.

This was a very cool adventure. Entry is $8/person over 12 years old. I love that they kept this park very natural even though it contains fossilized dinosaur footprints. There are 2 main places to see fossils and the Blue Hole would be beautiful to swim in. The water is very clear!
