I'd have to agree with the other review by Alex that this place is close as it will get to L.A. and S.D. I'm not sure where other reviewers are getting the $10 per drink cost from. Ours were comparable to any other boba shops at $6-$7.25 each. This is probably the best boba place in the Ventura area. We get our usuals that we get when in L.A. Uji matcha without the cheezo, mango pamelo, brown sugar milk, and taro milk with real fresh taro. All the boba teas tasted fresh with real ingredients. I don't like the artificial powder and syrup that most boba shops around here make. The boba were also perfectly chewy and caramelized, which is impossible to find at other boba shops in Ventura. I'm just so happy that they're here! ☺️

I loved my order and the vibes of the place was great! The lady taking my order was pretty accommodating. The original name of the drink was oreo brulee jasmine milk tea, but I wanted to change the jasmine for black milk tea. And she said she could that, so I was excited for that!

While waiting, I love that there was a foosball table to keep us entertained. After getting our order, I of course had to take a photo with the wall art they had up. Last and most importantly, the drink was great! I just visited this place and quickly got my order, but I definitely would recommend coming here with friends to hang out~

Such a let down, I had heard a tea place was now in the place of the Starbucks and the way others talked about it made me want to try it, but upon reviewing the menu it just looked so basic or over the top. So when you would try to ask the staff (Kaitlin) about the drink they just did not have the time for you and wont help. Just real dismissive and inattentive. This was our first time here and tried to ask about some drinks and her response was "which ever ones say Boba next to them". The drinks are overpriced and tip of course (not sure for what because she did not help, offer suggestions, just kept looking down at the screen just to hurry and get our order and brush us aside) so she left before you even got a chance to ask or change anything but push the gratuity real quick. The drinks leave you feeling what did I waste my money on the oreo Swiss coco just tastes like a watered down powder nestle chocolate drink with a hint of oreo and milk....good luck getting help with questions as you are expected to be a pro with these drinks as they do not have the patience to assist you.

It is unlawful and frustrating for businesses not to keep the posted hours that they are required by LAW to keep. Some of us are busting our tails and expanding the time and gas it takes to get there as fast as we possibly can, trusting that the establishments will do the bare minimum to be open when they say they will.
It’s bad enough that they charge an average of $10 for an iced tea drink. Every part of the normal bubble tea product, from the fruit to the boba itself, has a separately-charged hidden fee.

Chakaa Tea House, Oxnard closed tonight shortly after 8. The posted closing time is 8:30pm.

Honey key lime boom with lychee and Crystal boba is my favorite drink in the world. I love anything anything with lemonade/lime and tea and this knocks it out the park.

Second favorite boba drink I’ve ever had in my life is the strawberry snow milk with cheezo. Holy smokes. Starbucks sucks compared to this place.

when i heard of a new boba spot in vc, of course i had to come and try! i love strong flavored drinks and ordered a vietnamese coffee with grass jelly and it hits the spot, tastes like the places i used to go to when i lived abroad 😋 since it was an old sbux, there’s spacious seating inside and out as well, it’s for sure gonna be the regular spot now.

I've been to this location when it was actually a Starbucks (hows that for old?) And something about the current iteration of CAFE IN THIS BUILDING [Being Chakaa] Is distinctly different.
It's homey, welcoming and very like the vibe of a out of city teahouse. It's a nice escape with nice people. My server (both times) was charming and vibrant. Definitely makes the heart go Doki Doki.
It's a teahouse that you can just Chill at.

Do not recommend getting the taro milk tea here unless you are looking for a plain milk tea flavor. It felt like I was drinking plain milk with boba. On top on that it cost $9 in total tax and tip for 1 drink. The presentation at the beginning was cool with the taro paste on the walls of the drink but it was the most tasteless taro milk tea I’ve ever had.
