Our guide Sergio (I think, sorry, I suck at names 3/12 2pm) was excellent.
The tour is very extensive. And has examples of pretty much all cave features.
My 77yo dad made it thru just fine.
It is a cave so expect steps, damp floors and occasional tight spots. It's also 80F and pretty humid. So dress accordingly. Bags etc not allowed. Just bring your phone/camera and you won't be disappointed.
We went on a Saturday in April and it was about a 30 min wait for the tour. Just about right to wander the gift shop and hit the restroom.

Beautiful caverns with formations I've never seen before. This is a warm cave so dress accordingly. It is 85 ° and humid year-round. The trip was an easy walk and not strenuous at all.
There is a nice sized gift shop with something for everyone along with beverages and snacks.
They also have peacocks and guinea hens on-site.
If you are in an rv, they have pull through sites available at a very reasonable price. It is so nice and quiet here

We really enjoyed the cave tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and she is really into everything caves. Her knowledge of the history etc added to the enjoyment of seeing the amazing formations!!
I've been thru a dozen caves across the country - and this one has lots of formations I'd never seen before!! (some are one of a kind)
Don't miss this cave if you're into caves!
We took the regular tour, but they do offer adventure tours if you're so inclined to get dirty.

This was my return visit after my parents took me as a teen over 20 years ago. I have always wanted to come back and I so enjoyed bringing my own family to visit these gorgeous caverns. The Caverns of Sonora are some of the absolute best in Texas and I could easily spend twice as long on the tour just looking at all the marvelous formations.

Excellent cave system to explore if you are in Texas. We were going to Carlsbad national caverns and stopped here along the way. This is a private venue and thus tends to be a bit pricey (it was around $28 per person). However it is a guided tour, which took about 1.5 hours to complete. Overall, it was a great experience. The gift shop was very nice, the cave system itself was impressive and well maintained, with many scenic areas (see the pictures). I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because of the size and the price, but overall highly recommend visiting if you're in the area.

Privet caverns 7 miles from I10. The road leading to it is pretty good, all paved. The place offers RV spots with water and electricity, no sewer. Spots are pretty narrow and not very long. There is very limited Verizon service, and no T mobile. The RV spots are first come first serve$ 25 a night. Cavern tours are 1.5 long , unfortunately we arrive too late to enjoy one. The gift shop has a lot to offer.

Very cool experience for a family with young children. Listen to the tour guides when they suggest that you remove your sweater, it is warm in the caverns. Be ready to take plenty of pictures and when they ask if you want to take the short cut, say no.
