Great place to bring your kids. It's Free to the public on the majority of the Museum. The only attraction that you will have to pay is the IMAX or a Temporary exhibit. It's well laid out and there were rarely any lines. It's a fantastic place if you want your kids to get an introduction to science and biology. Just be aware they do have an exhibit of reproduction. They make it fun but if you're not ready to have the conversation of the birds and the bees, just be aware.

A Must-Visit Attraction in Los Angeles!

Our family had an absolute blast at this incredible destination! The museum's interactive exhibits, particularly the space museum, captivated our kids. They loved the hands-on activities and informative displays.

The facility was immaculately clean, easy to navigate, and offered spacious restrooms and a food court. We also appreciated the mini kids' activity area, designed for children under 8, which resembled a mini city.

Highlights:

- Interactive and informative exhibits
- Clean and well-maintained facilities
- Spacious restrooms and food court
- Free admission!
- Ample parking ($20)

This attraction is perfect for a fun-filled day trip. We highly recommend it!

I visited here with my boyfriend while we were visiting and staying with his parents for a vacation of 10 days. I didnt read there was a $20 parking fee, that was my bad. Regardless though, it was well worth the $20 for parking. There is a lot to see, a lot to do, and a lot to interact with. It was well worth it.

We really enjoyed seeing the animals, the aquariums, the journey of conception to full term display, the space shuttles and return pods from missions, even the touch tanks were really cool. There is so much to see.

We got there around 10 or 11, and didnt leave till they closed at 5. It took all that time to go through everything and see it all. Totally recommend to everyone of all ages.

We didn't get a chance to see the Rose Garden and the African American Museum, which was also included in the $20 parking fee. Thankfully the museums are compeletly free. Maybe we will catch it again next time we visit California.

Also, there is a gift shop and a small cafe for food if u get hungry. While it is slightly expensive, it was delicious and we were happy.

It is a great teaching tool to kiddos, and even for adults. My boyfriend wasn't well versed in how a woman's uterus looks and then adding a baby in it, so it amazed him at what a woman's body can do. I was amused as well, and I'm a woman, lol.

We did miss most of the 50ft Human Robot show, but from the few mins we caught, it looked cool.

Again, just all around recommend. So glad we visited, and we learned some new things along the way.

This exceptional museum offers extensive exhibits covering space, the sea, science, and land, among other topics.  Upon entering, visitors will find two jet aircraft displayed above the escalators. Restrooms are conveniently located near the entrance, with a gift shop on the left. Proceeding straight past the escalators leads to the cafeteria, providing food and beverage options.  The second floor houses primarily exhibitions focusing on space, the sea, land, local history, and nature. The third floor features an IMAX theater, requiring separate admission.  This is a noteworthy free museum in Los Angeles, ideal for families and children. Parking is approximately $20 per vehicle.

No entrance fee. Parking increased to $20/car in July 2024. When you pull in to park, look for spots on your left, which is closer to the entrance (versus turning right). Highly recommend coming with a stroller if you have younger children bc the walking distances from exhibit to exhibit are far, and some require going to second floor to access a different elevator on the opposite side of the floor (parts of first floor are disconnected and not accessible directly). Now have two discovery rooms, which are great for younger children with books, toys, and activities. There are several outdoor areas as well as hands on activities. There's also a room with a video on a loop about the ecosystem that our toddler son loved (despite saying that it was too loud). A really nice gift shop with affordable items. Eating is only allowed in cafeteria area, but your own food is allowed there.

Visit date: Sep 13, 2024, entered at 11 a.m.
Parking fee: $20/day, must leave before 5 p.m.

This is the best science museum I’ve ever seen! There’s no admission fee, and inside there’s a food court and a gift shop. It’s incredibly educational – the exhibits aren’t just sitting there waiting for people to learn; many are interactive and designed to actively engage kids’ interest. Not to mention, there’s a children’s play area, an aquarium, and a fascinating section with live animals!

The California Science Center has a huge section dedicated to space exploration, and they’re even building a new space shuttle gallery, which is super exciting for the future!

You can’t explore everything in just one day if you’re visiting with kids. I highly recommend this place for people of all ages. The exhibits are fun and educational!

This was my first time going, and spending time looking around was kinda entertaining. All the different games that they've made and everything about the science center made me smile 🙂

The science center itself was free, their was also people stationed outside telling you where to go. They were indeed helpful and helped us navigate our ways throughout the whole building.

I'd 100% recommend visiting any of these weekends, maybe with family or friends who get entertained easily with anything ♡
