I completed all the necessary steps for renewing my driver's license online, including the payment and scheduling an appointment, so there was no reason for any delays. The overall process was not bad, and the staff at the counter were friendly and helpful. However, the elderly man at the DMV entrance cursed at me. He seemed senile, and I don’t understand why they would hire someone like that. He yelled at me and tried to humiliate me, and while I tried to be understanding because of his age, people who make others uncomfortable should simply not be employed.

My wife went into the Whittier DMV office to complete her driver's license...eye test and photo. The representative working at the window, Susan, was the nicest person we have met at the DMV. Susan was polite, courteous, professional , and knowledgeable. She answered every question and made this visit the best DMV visit ever. Thank you Susan at window 10.

Visited the Whittier DMV on 11/1 with no appointment and had a 5-star experience. Welcomed by friendly, efficient staff and was able to upgrade my old CA ID to a Real ID in 23 minutes (!); granted, I completed the application online beforehand. All my years going to the dmv , I can say is my first time they actual treat me right and was not mad when asking questions. He had a suavecito black sweater on ! He was so happy and super helpful. Actually happy, enjoying working. First time they actually said hi Smiling . That’s why I’m putting my review i live in Whittier and everytime I come here they are mad. Not this time ! I hope everyone will work like him .

It was such a great experience behind the wheel test and Derek, my examiner/instructor, made it this way. Very calm, polite, give clear instructions. I couldn't have a better examiner than him, a great professional. Thank you.

I got my Driver's License in about 40 minutes. This dmv is organized and the employees in general are friendly and efficient.

I accompanied my spouse for her driver's license renewal here today and was surprised it only took her about 30 minutes to complete the process. I did the same thing at the Fullerton Office and it took 2 hours. Their system is better and it looks like their staff at Whittier are more efficient and customer friendly.

Most of the staff that works outside in the driving test line are good people except Melissa she is really mean & rude to young people who comes here to get their behind the wheel test. She needs to take anger management classes before she can work in this field. She got no patience at all, bad instructor

My elderly parents went in to renew a handicap placard, and unfortunately, were given No assistance. They were sent window to window, and when my mother asked an employee for help, she was told to go to the kiosk. (She has no idea what a kiosk even is.) She said, almost every employee she encountered was disgruntled and offered her no help. When she finally said she was leaving because she was exhausted, an employee finally provided some assistance. Shame on our DMV, its employees, and lack of service to the community.
