It is a beautiful walk by the Bay and you can usually find parking. Some ride bikes, some walk, some push strollers on this loose gravel, flat path. Many birds live here and can be viewed with and without binoculars. Pelicans, ducks, geese and many shore birds. We have also seen lizards and jackalopes. It is a lovely experience to see the bay in action and get some fresh air.

My favorite place in Palo Alto to walk around and photograph birds. The Duck Pond alone is well worth the visit. When the planes aren't constantly taking off or landing then you can hear bird calls.

Wide expanse, had good trails, when we went found most of the vegetation dry. Has picnic spots, playarea restrooms and water fountain. Parking is huge , 6$ charge.

Beautiful place to enjoy the sunset, HOWEVER MAKE SURE YOU ARE OUT WELL BEFORE 9PM. They will lock the gates and a police officer will have to go out there and unlock you. If you want to stay past that time park infront of the gate and walk in there is a parking lot before the gate. It’s only around a 10 minute walk to get to the pier and other trails within. I got to gate at 9:02 PM and the gate was closed so definitely be vigilant!

This is an all-around great spot to enjoy some nature trails. I often walk the trail that runs right alongside the runway for Palo Alto airport (KPAO) and the trail eventually wraps behind the golf course. I frequently see groups of bird watchers in this area as well, so I guess it's also a good location for that (if that's your sort of thing). There's usually plenty of parking here as long as there's not some event happening. I've found most of the bikers here to be friendly as well, so I never had an issue with sharing the trail between walkers and bikers).

One of my treasured haunts growing up. I've walked these paths many times over the years to clear my head. It's beautiful in all seasons and great to get some fresh air. Level waling trails that wander through marshes teeming with birds. Cloudy, sunny, rainy, it doesn't matter. Always worth it. My dad and I have gone on walks there since I was a child. I hope it always stays open to the public. There are public restrooms at the beginning of the trail and walkers, bikers, dog owners, bird watchers and runners all happily share the space. Also a secret fantastic spot to watch fireworks during 4th of July and you can see them go off all throughout the peninsula and at Shoreline. That and the moonlight run are the only nights when you can visit after dark.

This place is a haven for hikes and bird photography. The trail along the water front and the wooden pathway leading you into the shore is lovely.
