Altitude Bar and Grill is just okay, but it leaves a lot to be desired. The food is average—it’s not bad, but it definitely could be better. The service is fine, nothing to complain about, but also nothing to write home about. The atmosphere, however, needs serious improvement. The televisions are cranked up so loud you can’t even hear yourself think, let alone enjoy a conversation. If they could tone down the noise and step up on the food and vibe, this place could be much better. For now, it’s not a spot I’d rush back to.

Food was garbage. Easily the worst food we had in Vail. I think everything is cooked in the Indian restaurant next door, and while I'm sure they know how to make Indian food, they don't know how to cook anything else. Both the steak and the Philly cheesesteak were terrible. The beer is okay, but the wait to get our food was also ridiculously long.

Bartender by his own admission was terrible. Extremely slow service, and constant confusion and messing up of orders and bills. Chaos and confusion. Also, a customer tried to scam me at the bar lol, so potentially sketchy clientele. Avoid and go to the indian resturant, Annapurna, across the hall, they actually have their operation in order. The only redeeming feature of this bar is that you can bring in and eat the indian place's food in the bar.

This is inside of the Evergreen Lodge. See my review of the Lodge. The patrons here are smoking indoors and blowing it inside of the building at/near children. Unacceptable and zero accountability when confronted.

Response to owner: check Saturday evening 9/14/2024 around 8:30pm. Two women dressed up for the nearby Oktoberfest event exiting the bar into the main lobby. Also when they went to the restroom in the lobby and exited around the same timeframe. You can see one of them putting stuff up to her face and immediately blowing smoke out. I’m sure when you investigate yourself, you typically find you’ve done nothing wrong. How it goes. We will be staying elsewhere in the future due to this situation. It’s not your staff I’m upset with, it’s the other patrons. Having a gymnastics competition during an Oktoberfest celebration and housing both parties at once is a major oversight for promoters and sponsors in the area. I’m not the only parent who witnessed it and was upset by it. Probably just the only one who said something publicly. A few of us discussed it in the gym and have decided not to participate next year if the events are scheduled at the same time. We witnessed a fight in front of the gym between intoxicated parents on Saturday afternoon and multiple drunken incidents with patrons of the nearby restaurant and shop district. Exactly what I want my children exposed to 🙄

I’ve given this bar a lot of chances. I’m not sure if overall moral is just unhappy and unfriendly. That’s my standard experience. Or maybe if they are understaffed and underpaid. They’re essentially open for 5-6 hours a day? Bartender had 25+ people in and still did last call at 9:30pm. It’s prime time season? Just odd.

If you like waiting long time for drinks and unfriendly bar staff who ignores you - this is the bar for you!

Visited this bar on 12/12 and I had 2 beers. After bartender made last call, I stood at bar for 10 minutes trying to close my tab but bartender had his back turned, completely ignoring everyone while he was doing something on his computer (this was a common theme of the night; folks being ignored and waiting extended durations for drinks. They weren’t even that busy). I finally got tired of waiting and being ignored so I left. The next day, I checked my bank statement and see he charged me $150, despite only having 2 beers.

I called the bar yesterday to ask for an itemized receipt to find out what I was charged for but was told to call back in on Thursday to be able to speak with a manger, Joel. Called back on Thursday to speak with the manager Joel and he was rude and rather unhelpful; telling me I “probably bought drinks for other ppl” and directing me to reach out to his accounting department via email. I suspect Joel was the bartender working last Thursday.

Joel - if you hate your job and your customers so much, do everyone a favor and plz go find another job.
