My son and I love it here. We explore the books, pick something out, read it and take it home. There are so many fun options. He loves to play in the kid zone and I can rest and enjoy a yummy cup of coffee. We always have a meal there together too because there are so many delicious options for food. We’ve been to one kids read aloud which we really enjoyed as well!

This is such an incredible bookstore and a must visit! I have done a few author events with A Seat At The Table Bookstore, and It has been such a wonderful experience. The staff is so knowledgeable about the beautiful world of literature, and they are incredibly kind and welcoming. Every chance I get to do an author event with them, I jump at the chance! I have worked now with over ten bookstores across northern california, and without question, they host the best events! From author panels to book fairs to open mics nights and vinal wine pairing nights!! I highly encourage anyone looking for a bookstore to spend their afternoon at to come on by A Seat At The Table Books, grab a novel or two, a delicous cup coffee, and stay awhile. Support local and come check them out!

They have a kids play area but yell at the kids for playing. I was about to purchase some things but decided to not support this place.

You claim to be a neurodivergent place and yet the noise level was already at a high level because of the meeting you and the other women wearing face masks were having at the table closest to the kids play area. You as the owner abruptly snapped at the kids who were playing as normal kids do bc they were distracting you from your meeting that did not seem to have a pleasant tone. I’m free to write my truthful experience and you felt the need to write half truths to try and negate my honest review. I’m all for supporting a local book store but I did not see one neurodivergent customer in the store at the time. You could have nicely explained all of that in person but you did not. Yes thank goodness Elk Grove has other places because I definitely do not recommend this one.

This place is so amazing, I wish more people would go there. Such a warm, welcoming environment. They have a place for the kids to be kids, they have a spot for those with sensory issues, their coffee is great and they constantly work up new concoctions that are inventive and delicious. If they don’t have a book you’re looking for, they are so helpful getting you what you want. Their staff is super knowledgeable and friendly. I try to bring my son as often as possible and they are so amazing with him even though he’s a rambunctious two year old! They’re also a safe place for those in the LGBTQ + family. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Wow a hidden gem of elk Grove! So excited to have found this place! Toddler time, children's play area, a safe welcome environment that's diverse and cozy wine and beer ( from stone brewery!🤌✨) Can't believe elk Grove only has one bookstore but I'm glad this is it. Support small business, this shop is irreplaceable ❤️

The chorizo avocado toast was SO GOOD chorizo sausage, I've never had before, perfect amount of spicy. Delicious beignets, generous sauce. And a truly energized oatmilk caramel latte, id forgotten what a not Dutch bros coffee could taste like 😭👍 so good

The current seasonal favorite is the chai for me and the strawberry kiwi herbal tea for my nephew Delectable !💕

A Seat At The Table is truly able to live up to their name. Every time I have visited over the last several months, it has been to a friendly welcome and some new product or selection of books to explore. They are constantly working with customers to make their experience a customized and satisfactory one. If they don't have what you are looking for, they are able to get it shipped to the store for you super quick. Definitely a more personalized and worthwhile experience than anything Amazon might even try to advertise to you. Nothing beats community, and here, all it takes to become a part of that is just to show up. They've got so many book clubs and events that you're sure to find something that suits your intrigue. Not to mention, their broad selection of syrups for drinks and unique rotating menu offerings is enough to keep you coming back even if you like to take your reading slow and don't always need a new book! Prefer to borrow books rather than buy? They've still got every book accessory you could ever need on hand, from bookmarks to book protectors. Trying to get back into reading? The booksellers here are happy to have a conversation with you about what it might be that you're looking for. I really believe in the mission of this unique Elk Grove spot and simply can't recommend this bookstore cafe enough!

I love this place! I come here whenever I have the chance to. The staff makes this place super awesome because they are super welcoming and friendly. I enjoy coming here to work as well as meet local people. Additionally, they have events all the time which makes this place even better. The coffee variety is awesome for those who like different flavors. I generally come here specifically for lattes because that’s my go to drink. I enjoy bringing my child here as well as they can play in the kids area. Also, I like picking up books for them here, because the selection is really unique. most of all I just like the ambience of this place as they are open to everyone and support the community. Definitely recommend it.
