This summer is our fifth year bringing our family to OFRC. We've been going since our twins were six. My kids talk about our week at family camp ALL year. As parents, we love the fact that the kids are kept busy all morning with fun activities lead by great counselors so we get free time to hike, bike, nap, or read. We also love that all the food is included so we're not spending tons of money on uneaten restaurant meals like we usually do on a vacation with kids. The kids love the freedom to run (and bike) around camp independently, buy treats at the camp store, make friends with the cool counselors, swim in the swimming hole, and do arts and crafts. We all love the silly evening activities such as campfire, disco bingo, and line dancing. This camp is a treasure. It's that magical combination of Oakland's unique attitude and diversity combined with the feeling that you're a million miles away from the city. We cannot recommend this camp enough!

What a treasure. Great for the kids as well as the parents.
The food is exceptional, the staff is friendly and go out of their way to take care of you. The facilities are top-notch, and the community of folks that make the trek out there make you feel like family.
This is the quintessential family summer camp where memories are made. Cannot recommend enough.

I love this camp. I have been more than 30 times. It is wonderful for kids through their teens. All the other campers are very welcoming and inclusive. It is hot and no frills, but it is camping. It's great to have all the cooking done for you😊

OFRC is a great camp for families. Meals are prepared and served buffet style, salad bar, vegan and glutin free options. Many activities including art & crafts, ping pong, swimming in the Feather River, archery, horseback riding. Great place to rest and relax, meet new people, and reconnect with old friends.

Thos is Oakland's camp in the Sierra near Quincy, California. We camp out in canvas tents on a platform or in Rustic cabins. There are theme weeks, like International Folk Dance Week, Star gazing week, Storytelling week, and more. The camp is on the site of the ancient Maidu camp above a branch of the Feather River. you can come by registering in advance for a few days or a week. We live outside the whole time, though there is a mess hall where our meals are fixed, and an open veranda where we dance under the stars.

Oh my gosh! I attended adult art camp here the first week of June. Art camp was amazing, and the camp itself is beautiful.
