This was such an amazing way to spend a Monday night in Los Angeles. We weren’t really sure what to do and this arcade provided us with a super fun night. The price per person of $25 is super reasonable, the place is very clean, and the vibes were great. All the games were working smoothly, and you could even pick a song for free on the jukebox 🎶 so glad we went here and totally recommend to anyone who enjoys games, from kids to adults. Can’t say enough positive about this place! So great

It was pretty nice. The DDR/ITG machine was really good, but they need to keep the dance floor clean from dust, but other than that it's was great. A (9.5 out of 10) The Mortal Kombat P#1 stick was a bit stiff but ok. But overall a good experience. Now parking is a mission to find in the area.😁

One of the few true arcades still around these days. $25, cash-only, for a full day of play. They have a pretty healthy set of both retro games and newer games. Their main problem is maintenance - the joysticks are very loose, and multiple machines have noticeable input lag.

Free parking behind the building, the place was clean, has free bathrooms, and is open super late (1am I think). Downside (or upside) is there’s only one pricing option, and that’s $25 all ages for all day arcade gaming. So you have to make it a day trip to make it worth it. Game selection is pretty good, but because it’s all free play it gets a little annoying walking up to a pinball machine and seeing people leave a game 1/2 played. The guy working the door was super nice, wish they took cards but it’s cash only with an ATM on site.

LET ME START BY SAYING FAMILY ARCADE IS A GREAT PLACE DO COME HERE. THIS REVIEW IS OF MY 15 TIMES COMING HERE OVER 2 1/2 YEARS
This place is highly recommended by others and was to me by an ex friend. It's great as you can see from my profile picture I very much enjoyed my time here at family arcade. The place has a very 1980s/90's aesthetic with all the reflective panels and classic neon tube lights adorning the wall along with its colorful front entrance.

The 25 dollar admission fee for free play while slightly steep is reasonable as you can play all day from 11AM - 2AM when they close. They give you a wrist band as well, marked with a color code and date for the day you went in so you can leave and come back as you please for the day. (You cannot leave and still use their parking spaces though so if you step out only do it for a smoke break or food across the street!)

Along with that they have a special deal on Tuesdays where its only 15 dollars instead of 25. If you want the most bang for yourbuck show up on Tuesday and spend your afternoon there perusing their collection of vintage and modern arcade systems.

The cons are short and simple and are the only reason this place doesn't get its full 5 stars. First among being the biggest issue, payment, you HAVE to pay in cash to enter. No debit cards no tap pay, cash in hand. They have a general atm but banks are a few blocks down and there's only an old general ATM to withdraw money from with a fee. Second is maintenance. Family arcade is 40 years old and with that comes necessary maintenance on there many machines new and old. It can suck when one of your favorite machines in there is down for the count when you come to play along with the fact that there selection of games rotates occasionally. For me my favorite "Daytona USA" Machines with the simulated cockpit have been removed after the cockpit stopped working. I've also had machines simply stop working while playing them while at their arcade. It's expected but nonetheless it's not fun when it happens. And finally the parking situation. Its nitpicky but on a busy weekend parking in their complimentary parking lot fills up fast. And the only spots left are tight spaces along the rows of aparments so if you go, go early and bring everyone in the same car.

Other than that this place is great I grind on Wangan midnight here. go play skee-ball and then use their punching machine to blow off some steam with friends. If you live in the LA area make sure to come down here at least once and spend an hour or two it's worth it.

For the cost, this is a great deal if you live close by. But the machines aren't in the best shape, and it becomes extremely obvious on the pinball machines and fighting games, where precision is important.

It's normally $25 for admission and free play on most machines; on Tuesday, they lower the cost to $15. So if you're unsure whether this is worth your time and money, go on Tuesday.

There are no discounts for seniors or students, unlike public transportation, which does provide discounts! If I were the owner, I would definitely offer discounts!

Another thing to say is to start accepting credit/debit cards and contactless payments like Apple Pay now!

This place is fantastic! A solid selection of classic and modern games, emphasis on more modern ones. Lots of driving and first-person shooter cabinets. There are a few I would not expect to find in an unlimited play venue, such as Star Wars Battle Pod and Voltex.

I was there on a Monday and it was pretty quiet. The place was very clean, smelled good, and everything was well-maintained.

Highly recommend!
