Walking into Terrain is quite the pleasant experience! The ambiance and decor gives you an earthy feeling with a touch of luxury. Once you're seated, you're attended to quickly and they bring the most delicious bread that's been baked in a terracotta type pot. The scallion butter intensifies the taste of the bread and I would visit this place again just to taste the mix. Though the menu choices are quite limited (only reason for the 4-star rating), menu items are delicious and wholesome as they use ingredients from local farms. The sweet drop pepper on the salmon toast was the perfect combo and accompanied the mushroom soup well. Though Terrain has ample seating, it is not a noisy place unlike other around the mall restaurants. They also have a bar and a large wine menu. Highly recommend!

Absolutely loved discovering this spot. At first, I was confused because it is adjacent (inside?) Anthropology. But fear not: the food and the attention is great.

Their bread comes served in a plant pot. They bring the check inside a little book. They have the most amazing options: we had a Cream of Mushroom, truffle fries, and a great veggie burger.

Beautiful decor and friendly service. Ingredients are fresh and food is both well prepared and well presented. I loved the bread (pan brioche style), and while I enjoyed both the frittata and the stracciatella sandwich, I felt they were incredibly bad value for money. While I'm happy to pay $15 for sandwich & chips, I would expect to at least be able to taste the stracciatella, but the layer was so thin that I could only taste the salad leaves and the honey. Potentially a very good place, one I could fall in love with, but I'm afraid they could do much better.

Highly recommend. After a few hours of errands, I needed a bite. I didn't really want to go to the shopping center to eat. That all changed when I walked up and the outside dining. It was busy, but seated outside in the shade, my server Emily was fantastic and guided my through the menu. While I waited I was given fresh baked bread with creamy butter. My fries came shortly there after. The entree "Toad in a hole" (a great spinoff of eggs Benedict) was awesome. It was surreal it was casual, with a warm and friendly staff it reminded me of a 4 star restaurant. When you go, remember to soak it all in, this is an experience you will relish.

Love the decor and high ceilings! Not a lot of seatings, crowded on weekends. Staff was very attentive and friendly. The salad, burgers, and fritatta were okay, not bad, but not a lot in volume, therefore, with the high prices, CP was not very high. But, it is in Stanford mall, expensive area!

A kind of romantic, rustic ambiance with plants all around and twinkle lights. The bread came freshly baked in a flower pot and the butter was deliciously light/very whipped with twinges of sage and thyme. The menu featured a nice array of healthy options, and, at least the harvest bowl, was just as delicious as it sounded and with all its components perfectly cooked. On the fancier end, it’s in a nice in between spot, where it’s not casual but not the super fancy restaurant you need to make reservations for well in advance. Perfect for a romantic date or birthday celebration.

Went for coffee and sweets, the dessert wasn't that good, but the service was great. The place itself is very nice with good atmosphere. It's a bummer the restaurant isn't located in the center of the complex, but it's better than the ones that are in my opinion.

My wife and I used to come here occasionally because she loves how their bread comes in those brownish orange clay planter pots. Plus the food is really good too.
Really wish they would re-open
