Beautiful plaza is a 5-acre park in the heart of downtown Tuscaloosa. There is a large lovely fountain, a central gazebo / covered stage for live music, and a sprawling green space with accessible sidewalks. There are also some benches, shady trees, and restrooms. Dog-friendly (dogs must be leashed). Heat Pizza is at this park, great spot for pizza and beer. Several art and music festivals are held here, as well as outdoor family movies and other events. For a month or two in winter, the park is transformed into a Christmas wonderland! There is a tinsel trail of Christmas trees all lit up, and even an ice skating rink. Highly recommend.

Had a blast although I realized why it's been over 20 years since I went ice skating. My 7 year old was a beast, never giving up no matter how much she struggled. Everyone was super nice and helpful and the trees are once again beautiful to see. Will be going back next weekend.

My boyfriend and I took our dogs to Pet Night on Tinsel Trail. We had a lot of fun meeting Santa and The Grinch, and the trees were beautiful!

Christmas trees are out again. More lights now since they lit up the regular trees as well. Makes the park less dark. Maybe they should consider making that permanent.

Went one night to see the Christmas Tinsel Trail in Tuscaloosa which is usually held on the Riverwalk. We enjoyed the visit, all the trees were wonderful. We were able to park nearby and actually took the toonies walking with us. They had an ice rink and food trucks too. Very nice.
