Enough parking for everyone,but remember to bring a pen and $6.
Mt. Diablo has an extensive network of interconnecting trails and challenging hikes.
My hike was 17.3 miles loop, and 4,720 ft of elevation gain.
It is difficult and challenging loop with a lot of climbing up.....and running down....
But winter time is my favorite time to do this hike. My hike was a package of 6 peaks.
It begins at the Mitchell Canyon Staging Area, I’m hiking up to Mitchell Rock, Twin Peaks, Eagle Peak, Mount Diablo Summit, North Peak, Mount Olympia.
It is awesome hike, super pretty,
very beautiful waterflow and the grass is just too green.
Truly breathtaking views, it’s a great mountain to enjoy with it's California Native plants and wildlife.
So many happy birds, colorful butterflies, and fallow deer !!!
The longer I’m out, the better it gets. That so much natural beauty exists in one place.
I feel a fantastic mixture of many things, tired, smelly, exhausted and often pushed to my physical limits. But also feel calmer, strong accomplished.
Best hike of my life, fells like the future, great way to have fun, and improvements of sleep quality.
Because Devil’s Mountain, So summer time can be brutally hot, I’m typically trying to avoid it. Bring plenty of water, lunch, hat, sunscreen,trekking poles, good hiking boots.
Highly recommend this hike for every experience adventure.

To update on the parking fee situation, since there’s no information about it online - thankfully, they now have a sign with a QR code that allows you to easily pay online if you don’t want to bother bringing cash and a pen for the envelope system.

Spacious parking, just remember to bring a pen and $5! Lots of hiking option from easy to hardcore 10 miles and 3k elevation.

Beautiful hiking trails, at least one with a nice stream running alongside it (in April).

Parking is $6 and can be paid in cash or with the app named "yodel" (registration required).
I had good cell signal in the parking lot, with T-Mobile.

Big parking lot, access to lots of trails. The fire road is flat but the other trails are straight up. Take the trail to Eagle Peak, great views and very doable mileage.
