It’s absolutely wonderful being able to walk in and being swept back in time to the beginning of our town or finding out some little tidbit of family history. I was able to look up birthdates and death dates for family while doing my family tree.
While looking through old pictures we found pictures of my great great great uncle who served in the war along side his troop (world war 1) and other from this area. The photo was to long for us to properly frame and preserve. As a family we felt it would best be suited in the historical society. I’m forever grateful that we were able to take it there and they were able to put it up.

We were surprised at the size and extent of the Historical Society's collection. The museum spans a few rooms and offers a wonderful glimpse into the history of the area. We came to see what the museum had the the way of Disfarmer information and we're pleased to see a small section of the museum dedicated to the work, studio, and life of this fascinating photographer. The current museum stands due east of the long-gone studio. One of the very knowledgeable volunteers went out of her way to assist me with the resources including tracking down the Disfarmer gravesite. How fortunate for this community that they have members with the foresight and determination to preserve the history so well. Definitely worth visiting.
